All of them except the japanese manga with no translation.

I voted reading a translated version online because that was first. But I also read it in print, although I don't own it. It had been borrowed.
And later on I watched fansubs of the anime, also online. Never dubs. I hate dubs with a passion.

The first time I saw Death Note was in fact on television for me...I was up one night around 11:30 and had nothing else to do, so I was flipping through channels and saw the theme song. I watched a bit of the theme song and started to think it looked cool, and after watching the title come up on the screen, I remembered a few of my friends talking about the show and saying it was really good.
But it wasn't until a few weeks ago I started watching the episodes online somewhere. I think one day I had a Death Note marathon and watched twelve episodes in that one day. I'm all caught up with the episodes as they show up on television, and I'm not going to watch any further until they air on Saturday nights.

I myself discovered Death Note through a friend (Ventus), I think he mentioned it or something and I said that yeah, it sounded cool. So he let me borrow his copies of the printed English version ^^ I still gotta read 13 though *cough*

I came across it on Adult Swim. I watched both movies on the Internet, now I just keep up with the anime episodes on Saturday nights.

I first read it in shonen jump, but forgot about it until the anime dub came out. I watched it in english and japanese and then read the rest of the manga plus the oneshot and the how to read books.

A friend recommended DN to me. I started out with subbed anime and moved on to translated manga.
