Emily seemed to be alone now. She didn't notice Charlie go since they had been walking in complete silence for a while, the raven haired girl had blocked out every sound but her own steps and the soft thump of her heartbeat. City streets were awkward to be in nowadays and for a moment she almost had feelings of aversion towards the area she wasn't nervous just overwhelmed. Silent streets were strange especially during early evenings Em whistled, the signal sound for her dog to come near. The animal trailed by as they walked into the night she wasn't going home yet she found no reason to.
----------------------------------------------
The moon was already high in the sky by the time she got home. She made it a point to make it there by exactly 12 midnight Emily couldn't recall how the hours passed so fast but by the time she hit the 'checkpoint' Fluffy had went straight into her room, jumped on the bed and began to sleep. Her mother hadn't even made it home yet as expected so Em had more time to work on that phony website untill her mother returned
A blue glow illuminated the now pale looking face of the young girl typing incredibly fast on her computer again. Sometimes she'd spend many nights like this but she wouldn't be doing something as important as tonight; any other night she'd be talking with friends on a messenger service or perhaps simply surfing the web. Tonight was different she was working hard and fast. Having a half years education on web designed helped her slightly with her task, withing a few hours the page was surprisingly well done and seemed well put together but it needed more work. "3 am," she sighed "Where's mum?" Her eyes were begining to feel heavy as if they were being forced closed... but she had to work on the site... she had to
The sun was up again, gleaming and bringing in warm rays of light from her window yet the girl was still asleep she had to have been typing until her eyes were forced closed but by then she was finished (or way too close to finished) and her flawless face was pressed against the keyboard to leave impressions of the keys on her cheek for when she got up. So much for flawlessness.
An older woman was walking about the house now. She had light skin but seemed to be aquiring a tan; like her daughter but the woman was nothing like her child in style. Her business suit was still worn neatly despite the time of day she arrived at the house and she was tired it could be seen visually under the womans eyes and in her posture. She ventured the house as if she hadn't been there in months making careful steps as she was trying not to wake the others but then the elder realized it would soon be time for her daughter to be up for school, she checked her bedroom knocking before entering and continued forth through the house. When she entered the computer room she saw her daughter sleeping on the desk, the woman walked in quietly putting a hand on the girls shoulder and bending over to look at the screen.
"My baby, going to college?" She couldn't comprehend the thought, Emily always seemed uninterested in extended education but now her mother was proud at her findings. The woman smiled and wrote down the number for the site, she planned to call on her own to inquire about it. As a surprise to her daughter she would plan out and pay for the trip to seek other types of colleges, then she'd make Emily aware of it. 'It will be unexpected' thought the woman 'That's the least I can do for the poor girl'
Charlie would receive a call later on in the day

Charlie was a bit exhausted from staying up so long, so far he has discovered three more murders which has happened under Kira's name. This was becoming too much of a natural occurrence in the world he lived in today, a world where cops and judges controlled law, even though some were corrupt they didn't kill murderers and kidnappers, they put them in jail so that they could suffer. Thats what Charlie found most annoying about Kira. Why give a man who has done such atrocities the peaceful embrace of death? Why not put them in a place where they can rot until there natural dying day.? This man Kira was too merciful to the ones that deserved a ultimate and painful punishment, not some quick death. Even though Charlie heard some of the criminals suffered for days it wasn't enough.
Wondering what time it could be Charlie checked his watch. Dawn had already come and Charlie did not get sleep nor did he intend to, but every move he made his body ached and beg for a deep slumber. Charlie knew better though, if he went to sleep the nightmares would come back and recently they have become to real, as if it was really happening to him even though he knew it was a dream it couldnt be helped. Shutting off both computers and about to shut off the tv, Charlie saw another new report about the worlds crime rate. Down...every crime that could ever be committed look as if it was magically erased from the world. This wasn't good. Kira may have helped the world temporarily but what if people started to get use to having Kira deal with all the crooks in the world. Task forces would be dismantled, unknown criminals without any previous record would go rampaging around the city committing rapes and murders. Could Kira deal with them all? How did he know who to kill in the first place? There had to be clues and Charlie will find them in Japan even if L did not.
His body screamed for rest as Charlie headed towards his mostly unused bed. As he sat down upon the sheets he didn't take off his jeans, they were too comfortable anyway to take off. Putting his cell phone on the shelf next to the bed Charlie closed his eyes and rolled over resting his head upon the pillow. But before he could fall asleep, his phone began to ring..."Danger Danger open up the lamberghini limegreen doors!........!!!!" Charlie Breathed out and sat up picking up the phone and answering it. "Hello?"

Mary couldn’t help calling the organization so early. It was excitement that boasted her, imagining her daughter finishing college and becoming a business woman just like her made the woman gleam. She couldn’t imagine anything that could make her more proud so she waited until Emily was out of the house and headed to school so that she could make the life changing call.
A few rings, Mary thought she wouldn’t receive an answer at first until a young sounding voice answered at the other end of the line sounding rather groggy or hoarse from sleep but Mary couldn’t determine this right away, the woman concluded ‘Perhaps the professor has acquired a cold’ the woman pondered, then she answered quickly addressing the man as the name she had jotted down from the site “Professor Charles Shaffer?” She asked in her most kind dwelling voice “Pleasure to speak with you, I wanted to inquire about the program that my daughter Emily wishes to invest in,” She read from the little note that was nearly crushed in her hand “Uh, ‘Nationwide Prefecture,’ I believe… I’d like to know the costs so that I may send my daughter circa mid June” She seemed to be spitting information at him like a camel until she breathed in hastily waiting for the ‘man’ to answer her unknowing that it was just one of Emily’s school friends… Emily who was suppose to be headed for school but took a detour as soon as she stepped out of her door
Emily was on the roof, she never had to travel far in order to cut school and even though her mother woke her up early enough for her not to be late she still found herself tired from yesterday and went right on to the roof as soon as she kissed her mother goodbye. She was laying there now, her back pack was emptied of books and stuffed with a blanket and a small pillow. Mary didn’t know, her mother so she was safe there to nap for now and the roof was relatively clean for an overall neglected place. She wasn’t sleeping however, she stood there quietly looking up at the sky simply thinking until she remembered she left the computer on… she left the almost fully finished website open for inspection and worst of all she forgot to warn Charlie that she put his number on the site for reference. Sure it would’ve been a good prank but as Emily was serious about going to Japan she didn’t want to ruin her chances over a misunderstanding. Em knew that her mother Mary was highly suspicious especially when it make to money matters so hoped that she’d be able to call Charlie later on and warn him so for how she wrapped the light blue blanket around her for warmth and she leaned on the edge of the roof to look over Mary should’ve been out of the house by now, she waited to see her leave and enter the car and she looked at the stop watch a small one that was hanging from a chain around her neck. It was in the shape of a small sun. She sighed, trying not to talk to herself out loud she thought ‘Something’s up’ Her mother was too routine to be late and even being 15 minuets late was irregular for her. Wind blew at the girls hair slapping it to her face as she clung even more tightly to the blanket her attempts at not talking out loud were in vain as she mumbled audibly but under her breath “Wonder what’s goin’ on”

Professor... Charlie was about to tell her she had the wrong number until he had realize something. Why would someone who called the wrong number come so close to knowing his name, and why would it be about a university. Something was very odd indeed but he let her keep talking before he would talk. As soon as he heard Emily's name in the conversation he began to put the pieces together. This must have been the plan Emily had mentioned before, it was a bit cruel of her though to not tell him that he was included in her plans from the start. This wasn't even a small part this was a large part of the plan. Charlie had hoped that he did not ruin the plan when he answered the phone in his regular voice. As she continued he began to work the muscles in his voice box and was ready to talk as she soon stopped. "Ah I see, well thank you for your call. We are pleased that you and your daughter are interested about our fine institution" This was too weird, if you were not in the same room as the boy name Charlie you would not believe that such a manly voice would come from such a young boy. The Voice did not fit the body what so ever. "Well our prices at this institution are quite fair, and if you do not directly come from Japan there is a discount on boarding. Our food and board collectively would range around 4000 dollars. Our guided tours would cost 1000 dollars as it does tour around most of the Japanese islands. As well we could start with summer classes as soon as she arrives which would cost a additional 1000 dollars" Charlie was winging it really. He did not know price ranges for colleges or universities much less ones outside of the United States, he never planned on going to college. "That is our basic visiting packages at the moment Ms, is it alright to sign you up?" Charlie was crossing his fingers. His voice was flawless and was one of confidence there was no way she could see through it unless her ears were very well trained. Now he waited for her response.

The woman listened to the ‘professor’ on the other line carry on, it had completely slipped her mind that she didn’t properly introduce herself and just as she was about to the man had began to run the prices by her. She had to admit that it was going to be extremely expensive but with the extra finances she had in the band and the money that was left over from her tax break she just might be able to afford it ‘That girl should be grateful’ she thought, she cleared her throat with as much discreetness as she could muster “Oh my,” Said the woman “What a lot,” But it did sound very worthwhile and not to mention legit at the sound of him calling her Ms, she stated her name gleefully “Please sir call me Mary, Ms. Mary Sterling and anyhow I’ll look further into this on your website. I’ll let my daughter be aware of this right away I just have a lot more to learn of this before I send her off completely however…” She looked at her wrist which exposed a hand watch that she was going to be at least 20 minuets late. Late; not her style. “I really have to be going, Thank you for your time.” Click. She grabbed her hand bag and the keys to the car and left
Emily was becoming restless on the roof she was leaning over the edge tapping her foot on the ground eager to return back to the warmth of her home and the security of it as well besides she had to call Charlie and let him know of her plan fully. A few minuets later Em was about to ground herself to wait it out when she saw a small ant-like figure down on the ground below. It was her mother and she was headed to the car. Emily said “I wonder why she leaves so early and returns so late,” She figured maybe her mom was busy getting a boyfriend recently. The girl made a disgusted face, grabbed her things and went downstairs from the roof. Sneaking into the house wasn’t easy Fluffy had woken and began to bark, surprised by her coming back so early. She grabbed her cell phone from the charger in her room and began to dial.
If he answered she would yell out at him the whole deal on the situation “CHARLIE!!! We been needin’ ta tolk! I made this website and my moms liable to call you tonight, I’m going to show her the information this plan is positively going to work I was working on it all last night--” Then her phone would beep the signal for another incoming call and it was Abel a boy who had a crush on her at school. He probably noticed she was absent and called to see if she was alright, she ignored it however and finished her sentence “Be prepared, and be careful” and she wasn’t really saying to be prepared for the phone call she was speaking more about the trip itself. She didn’t want him to do anything stupid that would stop them from getting to Japan in the first place, she was just hinted by his skills with computers and hacking that he might try to do something sneaky to get them out there but they could save that stuff for when they got there, “That means no trying to hack into important computer documents and no even slightly illegal things that might get you caught by police, I mean I have my share of sins but please”
She looked at her dog, remembering how she stole him as a pup from a family at a park. He had ran towards her and they played for nearly an hour before children came looking for him, back then he had another name of coarse. It was “Tiger” and the dog responded to that name but she held him close and pulled him home nearly against his will telling her mother that she had found him when she had got him. Outside she would rip out lost posters of him from the trees and light posts and with time the search for tiger died, and he became her Fluffy, loyal and obedient… Then Em smiled comfortable with the fact that he couldn’t see her she smiled at the memory of her wrong doings and at the thought of the events ahead

Charlie said goodbye to the mother of Emily and just sat there disoriented about the whole ordeal. It wasn't really that much of a hassle talking to her mom it still just felt weird. As he flipped over back onto his side Charlie rested his eyes once more and tried to get some sleep before it was time for him to wake up. He knew by now that he wasn't going to wake up to go to school; he would be knocked out on his bed to at least noon. As his face lay on the pillow and his body slumped on the bed he heard his ring again "DANGAH DANGAH!". What was up with tonight, never in his life has anyone called him this much in one day. The idea of giving his number away now seemed like a stupid one. Rolling over lazily and picking up the phone he mumbled a very incoherent "Hello....?”. Having the cell phone right next to his ear was a big mistake because from the other end came the roaring of a mad woman.
Emily began to tell Charlie what she had planned and the website she had made during the night. Why she didn't tell this to him ahead of time was beyond him because by the way she was talking it didn't seem like it was suppose to be a prank but oh well, the mind of a woman will never be understood by men, not today, not tomorrow, not ever. Charlie held the receiver away from his face and even at this distance he heard her words clearly, why was she so damn loud? thought Charlie as he waited to speak. He heard her stop in the middle of a sentence when a beep came from her phone; must have been a incoming call but what idiot would call this early in the day, the suns barely up. Emily soon hanged up on him without Charlie saying a word, but she did have time enough to tell Charlie what to do. She told him not to do anything that would cause attention and one of his favorite things he did in life was now restricted; hacking.
Why should he listen to her? A girl that he had only met for one day...Thinking to himself once more Charlie knew she meant well but to say to sound so commanding was a bit weird. It would help though, if they needed that kind of attitude if they were to survive in Japan. There were some reports about a whole building and parking lot being destroyed with explosives in Japan that made Charlie wonder what kind of situation he is putting himself in, some people say it was a terrorist attack. Charlie rubbed his face and went right back to sleep, right after he turned off his phone. ------------------------------2 Week Time Skip-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Graduation Day--------------------------------------------------------------------
Waking up from a long nights rest Charlie was ready for such a boring day. Graduation day, probably is going to be one of the saddest days in Charlie's life. There will be no one there to watch him take the next step in life, to go to college, to have a family, to live....ok who is Charlie trying to fool? His life was dedicated to finding whoever Kira is and humiliate him, her, or them in front of the world. Grabbing his graduation gown from the chair he made the long walk to school but right before he left his house he called Emily. Charlie would tell Emily either in a message or talking to her that he would meet with her in front of the graduation building so that when its over they can discuss there plans further. Its been a 2 weeks since he talked to her about the plans she had and he wondered if they came to fruition. He had hoped she was ready for this long trip to Japan, he was, he had his bags packed and ready to go and he had finally gotten his hands on a passport that had yet of course another name on it and not his birth name. He was still paranoid about Kira finding him and killing him. Charlie was now approaching the main entrance of the building and saw everyone that was graduating on a line ready to enter while the parents were being seated on the inside. Charlie skimmed the crowd looking for Emily.

Weeks past and Em had no general contact with Charlie, there was success in managing to get her mother to give her a credit card for the trip however and a whole stack of cash that she had to stuff into two envelopes. Her mom seemed to have accept the fact that she would depart and begin taking 'classes' there so as the weeks past her mother helped her prepare by supplying the money for the items she would need to bring. Em was so excited for the trip she nearly forgot about the graduation ceremony that was drawing near and on the day of graduation she work up late with her alarm clock broken against the wall. The product of an angry sleepy teenager; the girl heard her phone beep alearting her of a missed call. She listened to the voice message and immediately sprung into action afterwards
She had a backpack with her cap and gown inside her hair was messy and she didn't really have any inspiration as to being there especially since her mother was off on a business trip and wouldn't see her collect her diploma. "Amm" the girl does a cross between a sigh and a yawn and frowns lightly. She was totally unprepared and even worst she felt like crud. Following the commands from the voice message she jogged over by the outside of where the cerimony would be held. She found Charlie there, he had his gown and seemed ready but she didn't even have hers on and she had no intention of doing so.
"Lets leave tonight, no now-- in a few hours. I have my things packed we can get on a plane as soon as tonight if we play our cards right" it was a abrupt burst of radical idea that she didn't think he'd go along with. "Trust me, there's nothing to look forward to here. These events aren't for people like us" she put on the cap to her cap and gown, by then the rest of the students we're already seated inside and speeches were being held before the 'awards' and diplomas were appointed. She heard the begining of a students speech and smirked "Don't let anything keep you away from your dreams and goals; that's what a great teacher once told me-"
She told herself 'Don't let anything keep you from your dreams' and she tilted the charm on her cap from one side to the other "So, congradulation graduates of class '08 and goodluck to all of you!" she said narrating her own much shorter version of the ceremony she threw her cap in the air and watched as the sun made the '08 charm on the side sparkle. In her eyes the cap fell down slowly to the ground and Charlie may have thought she was weird for doing that non-sense but Em didn't care she let the cap on the ground and began to walk away with or without Charlie. Silently hoping he didn't mind the sudden change of plans

.There's nothing to look forward to here... These words from Emily kind of hit close to home. No one was here to see him off into his new life, no one to share in his joy of finally leaving this jail of a school. A person went up to speak and slowly Charlie's eyes glanced to wards Emily and he wondered why she was going through the whole motions of throwing her hat into the air as if it really meant anything. He did not see her come with anyone else...he wondered what was going through her mind. Leaving tonight... that would be a big undertaking, it would be the first time Charlie and Emily ever leave the united states and for Charlie,it would be the last time he would ever see the States again.
As the kids went to there parents for the happy hugs and the cliche pictures of fake friends and pedophile teachers Charlie thought it was time to leave. He threw down his hat and robe and left the ceremony with Emily. They parted ways and he said to her "Keep your phone on it wont be long until i call you to meet me at the airport. We'll be leaving by JFK airport, see you then" Charlie left back to his house quickly and called the airport, he thought the tickets using Emily's name and also a fake name he used with a passport he had collected from a connection he had. The picture was his but the information belonged to a totally different person. As Charlie got home he got his bags ready and called in for the tickets. The flight left at 11pm which would have them arrive at the night time in Japan. That would make finding a hotel easier since most the cab drivers could expect tourists to stay somewhere. Later on when his stay felt more permanent, Charlie would look for a place he could crash at like the place he had in NYC. After ordering the tickets Charlie called up Emily and told her the flight on the phone, after that he soon looked up local Kira areas in Japan where many of the deaths had occurred.
-------------4 hours later/ 10:00 pm JFK airport-----------------------------------
Charlie waited there for Emily to show up, he was in the waiting area right near the gate where the plane would be boarding passengers. He hope she didn't get stuck in traffic, for some reason everyone picked this time of the year to go out on vacation. He sat there on the seats grasping his necklace that once belonged to his mother, how much she loved this necklace, it was a family heirloom and now it belonged to Charlie. He would not let them down he would be sure there death was avenged.
