Oana had been restless, absolutely furious at the way everyone was repeatedly screwing her over an adding things to piss her off. after the party, the little shinigami spread the 2 sets of wings on her back and the set on her head and flew off in total frustration, feeling all-in-all dejected and completely angry. she would have killed them both, but she liked Takai and his loyalty to her. Kin on the other hand, would be killed in a second if it didnt get her into trouble. Oana leaned back, absolutely frustrated and haughtily crossed her arms. Now she was bored again, all the most exciting things she had already done.
not everything
oana snapped back into reality and thought about that feeling in her gut. She ran her hand back to her deathnote, resting soundlessly in her back pouch underneath her long wavy hair. she had hoped and anticipated this moment, she expected it to never come. lips curling into a triumphant grin, and her long fangs pressing happily onto her ruby lips, she chucked.
"Its Time"
Oana stood and spread her gossamer wings once again, pulling out her deathnote and taking off into the misty night. she circled the air four times with ease before peeling her long bony fingers from the notebook, watching closely as it floated to the ground with a tender thunk. Oana flew to a nearby pole and crouched silntly, her eyes on the deathnote she dropped lying lonely on the nearby nearly empty sidewalk. she wasnt sure if anyone would pick up the thing, but she waited nonetheless, crouching like a tiger on the long dark pole.

It’s a beautiful night…
Takitsu and Takiyoshi had been sent out on some errands for their parents. They had divided the considerable list between the two of them, and the twins had gone their separate ways. Takitsu had almost finished her share, but for now, she’d take her time and enjoy the calming silence that the night had offered. Seeing as how this was such a busy city, she wouldn’t get a chance to be by herself again anytime soon.
Takitsu sat on a bench nearby, reaching into her bag and pulling out a candy at random. She glanced down as she unwrapped it. Strawberry lollipop… yum Happily sucking on it, she looked around lazily, following the few passing cars with her eyes before they disappeared around the corner. She fidgeted with the hem of her skirt, one of her many nervous habits. Takitsu pulled out her cell phone, flipping it open to check the time. Hmm… I’ve got time… I should probably hurry up, anyway She slipped the green phone back into it’s pocket, and pulled the purse strap over her shoulders. I just have to pick up a few things from the store, and I’ll be done Takitsu thought, taking a quick glance at her list. Shouldn’t take more than a few minutes
Popping the almost-gone pink lollipop back into her mouth, Takitsu stood, brushing off the side of her skirt. She bit down, crunching the last of the lollipop to pieces, and flicked the stick into a trash can. She began to walk away, already diving into her purse to pull out another sweet. Ooo, gum Crumpling the silver wrapper into a ball, she popped the gum into her mouth, twitching a little from the strong minty taste. Wait a sec… Takitsu turned around. She had heard something. Her eyes darted from side to side, narrowing slightly. What’s that? A black rectangle lay on the ground, on the other side of the street. It looked like a notebook, but in this light, Takitsu couldn’t be sure. It gave her a creepy feeling, almost like a car wreck, but curiosity got the better of her.
Taking quick glances on either side, Takitsu ran across the street, tilting her head and looking down at the black form. Yup, definitely a notebook She crouched, reaching out slowly, as if she expected it to attack her. Takitsu closed her eyes, before extending her forefinger and gently touching it. She opened one eye. The notebook didn’t budge.
Takitsu rolled her eyes at her own stupidity. Of course it isn’t going to do anything, it’s a notebook, you baka she scolded herself. Picking it up, Takitsu stood, flipping the notebook over to it’s front.
“Death… note?” Takitsu said slowly, in disbelief. Furrowing her brow, she opened the cover, quietly reading the inside.
“The human whose name is written in this notebook shall die?” Takitsu closed the notebook.. er, Death Note. Brushing her bangs out of her eyes, she looked around, clutching the notebook to her chest. Was this for real? She wondered, nervous.
She took a deep breath, before calling out. “Hey… who dropped this?” she asked, not really expecting a reply. Who knew long this had been here? But, if this notebook hadn’t made the thump, what had? She looked down at the book cradled in her arms. Can this really kill someone? Takitsu wondered, flipping it open again. Instead of the inside cover, she flipped through the pages. They were blank.
Closing the Death Note once more, Takitsu looked around. Still, she found herself alone. She suddenly froze, feeling someone’s eyes on her. She whirled around. “Who’s there?” she asked, her voice shaking. Something caught her eye. She looked up, nearly dropping the notebook. Someone was on top of a pole, and it seemed they were looking straight at her. How long has THAT been there? To her, the figure seemed like a gargoyle, only more stoic, and definitely creepier.
((Sorry for all the needless detail xD I just had a big muse o.o))

Oana had waited patiently, she squatted there as if she were stone. one by one people passed by her mysterious notebook as if it werent there. she was pretty sure someone would pick it up, so why hadnt they? Dont they know they were missing the opporotunity of a lifetime to be something other than some useless toy for her? didnt they know that the minute they picked up her notebook they would either benefit or suffer from her wrath? what did they know? what do they know?
though her eyes could not be seen under the long black bangs, her head twitched as if she were scanning the streets for victims, they had no idea what was in store the minute the notebook chose a human, Oana made a noise, it was so close. open your damn eyes...
Her eyes fell on it, exactly what she wanted. A girl had picked it up and began to examine it. in Oana's head she gave a triumphant noise, and a long gangly grin followed. The girl opened it and from the top of that pole Oana could see the rules she knew so well, she knew the reaction before the girl could make it, the first rule did that to people, the person whose name is written in this note shall die
Oana almost had the urge to call out the minute she asked who was there, but before she could, the girls eyes fell fearfully onto her. Oana's grin became wider and she stood to her feet, time to make my grand entrance! Her wings extended to their full length and she took off, making one rotation overhead the girl before diving down to meet her. she flew a foot or two above the girl for effect
" You seem to like it." Oana crooned with a curled grin of her ruby lips showing her fangs.

The person… creature, more like, seemed to grin as their eyes met. This, of course, only added to Takitsu’s fear. That thing is freaky… what could it want with me? And why didn’t I notice it before? Takitsu wondered, looking down at the notebook. She hadn’t seen the strange being until after she’d picked up the death note. Could it have something to do with that? No, wait… that’s impossible. It can’t be true… right? Takitsu bit her lip. Other people had simply walked by the death note… was she just dreaming? Was this another nightmare, due to the horror movies her parents loved so much? But as she thought about it, everything around Takitsu- the fear of creature above her, the rough cover of the death note, the slight breeze, even the gum in her mouth, its minty taste still strong- it all seemed very real.
And the thought, the feeling, that her life had taken an unexpected turn… well, that was so real, it was scary.
Looking back at the creature mounted atop the pole, Takitsu noticed that it had stood, and had spread wings. Wings! It has wings! Scary… yet, kinda cool Takitsu had to admit; freaky as it was, the creature’s wings were pretty cool. They resembled those of an angel’s, though an angel’s wings were pure white. These wings were grey, from what Takitsu could see.
The winged creature took off from the pole, circling overhead once, then swooping down, hovering about a foot above Takitsu. Takitsu slowly looked up. Not exactly afraid of what she might see, but not eager, either.
It wasn’t as bad as Takitsu had expected. The creature had the stature of a young child, and the body structure made it obvious that it was a girl. The creepiest characteristic was probably the bottom half of her face; pale, cheeks lined with angry red scars. Takitsu blinked in confusion; the top half of the creature’s face was covered by raven-colored bangs. She couldn’t see any eyes; though she wasn’t sure she wanted to.After studying the girl a few moments longer, Takitsu looked back, staring at the place where eyes should be.
“You seem to like it.”
Takitsu swallowed, not sure if she could trust her voice. Instead, she slowly nodded, looking back down at the black notebook. Can it really kill someone? Who is this girl? What does she have to do with it? Takitsu’s head started to spin with questions, making it hard to concentrate. She cleared her throat, before finally speaking.
“I’m wondering… can this notebook really kill someone?”

Oana had been dissapointed in the girl, she had looked almost relieved that she was the least scariest shinigami in the relm next to Gelus, but her frantic nature in killing with the death note compensated greatly for it. In her mind despite her small stature, she was a rather vicious shinigami when it came to the deathnote, she played with the rules as much as she could and never broke the rules.
She could feel the girls confusion, the rush this little turn of events had on her, she was aware of it, good.... and she knew that question was coming, when it did, she had let out a big hearty cackle like an old witch hag. She looked back down to the girl and smirked, could the death note kill someone...really... Oana should have known. it had taken the war buffs a kill or two to believe it, why would any other human be any different? Oana felt like telling her hotly that it would, but she had a feeling that the word of a scary little thing would not be taken seriously
instead, she floated closer to her, tapping a long yellow nail on the notebooks white lettering, " why dont you try it and find out?"
Oana waved a hand to the street callously, it didnt matter to oana whom the girl tried it on, but she knew it mattered to the girl. When she was in the wars, as long as that person killed someone on the opposing team there was little guilt about choosing, but now there were no frenchman, no germans, these were normal people with normal lives, these were just statistics. Who she killed meant nothing to oana, as long as she killed someone

Takitsu’s eyes widened as the creature laughed, or rather, cackled. The noise sent a shiver down Takitsu’s spine, and she took a few steps back, keeping her eyes glued to the creature hovering above her. Takitsu had a feeling she wouldn’t like what she was about to hear; the creature was probably going to say yes. Or worse, she would have to try it out. If it succeeded… would that make her a killer? But what evidence would they have? No one would possibly suspect a notebook. It was just too unreal; the thought that just writing a person’s name down would kill them.
"Why don’t you try it and find out?"
Takitsu let out a slow breath. Well… no one would have the evidence… I thought so myself… Takitsu shook her head. She was not a killer, and she would not think like one. But a small feeling nagged at her; if she didn’t try it out and find out for sure, she’d never know, and it would drive her insane, trying to think of what would’ve happened. She knew herself too well to deny that.
So, she had two choices: One, write a person’s name down in the notebook. If it didn’t work, she could hand the notebook to the creature and walk off. If it worked… well, she’d think of that if it happened.
Two, she could simply drop the death note, walk off, and live her life screaming at herself for not trying.
Takitsu sighed. The way she saw it, there was a fifty-fifty chance the death note would work, and a one hundred percent chance she’d hate herself for not trying. Looking down at the notebook, she thought It is just one person… She stopped. The people… She looked to the other side of the street. A couple passed, glancing her way and waving. They didn’t seem to notice the winged creature above her; did this mean her theory was correct? That only those who have touched the notebook could see the demon?
And besides, she went back to her thoughts. I could always just kill a criminal. Takitsu froze. Kira killed criminals. They had yet to find the evidence. And he could kill people around the world. Did that mean that…? Kira had a death note as well? Takitsu remembered the message from what everyone called the Second Kira. They had said something about shinigami. She looked back at the creature overhead. IS she a shinigami? Takitsu wasn’t stupid; she could think for herself, and could catch onto things rather quickly. Had she figured out Kira? Kira was too smart to leave a death note where someone could see it, so she couldn’t tell who he was. But she might’ve figured out his means of killing.
Whoops. Back to the shinigami Takitsu realized that, though her thoughts hadn’t taken very long, the creature probably wanted an answer by now. Takitsu cleared her throat, looking back to the shinigami.
“How can I kill someone? I don’t know anyone’s name.”

All the time she needed, oana gave willingly. This was a pensive little human for her, she had been used to action and spur of the moment descisions, but this had taken longer than she expected, but then again, for her to get in the game, she needed to be patient...
This human had seemed a little frightened of her, but as everyone learns, a little thing goes a very long way, and oana made the most of little things
Like her question about the names. Inside, oana squealed with delight, but on the outside she complimented this with a low chuckle. " Usually its about a day or two before the deal." She said in astonishment," you can see like I do," she looked at the shining lights hovering above her and she gave a sadistic grin, " right now I can see your name, your birth name child, not your nickname, your real name, first, middle and last down to the last characther. And I can see how long you have to live on this earth. In fact, I can see the names and lifespans of everyone here. For people like me its no effort at all, and with the blink of an eye we can trade eyes so you can see them too."

Takitsu had expected the shinigami to be annoyed with her taking so long, but instead, the creature seemed excited about her question, as if Takitsu had just brought up the girl’s favorite subject. Giving a chuckle, she answered.
A deal? For what? Takitsu tilted her head, giving a not-so-subtle look of confusion. The shinigami grinned (Takitsu shuddered at this, any form of a smile from the creature was downright terrifying) and went on, saying that she could see Takitsu’s real name, not her fake name, Sasame, which she usually gave to strangers. How long I have to live… What? Takitsu furrowed her brow, thinking. If she can see my name… that must be how she kills people with the death note She glanced down at the notebook once more. It’s all starting to add up…I wonder how many people she’s killed
Trade eyes? This grabbed Takitsu’s interest. If she traded eyes… she’d be able to kill anyone she wanted. She’d find out if the death note was real, or just a clever fake. But wait, there’s no way something like this is for free. There has to be a cost… a great cost Takitsu bit her tongue, thinking. The eyes sounded like they were worth anything. Being able to see anyone’s life span and name, and being able to kill them just by writing it down in a notebook… it was an extraordinary power. But it would also place anyone she came in contact with in danger. But she could also save them from being hurt.
Takitsu knew that power could corrupt, and fast. But she also knew that power didn’t always mess up a person. As long as she was careful, the eyes, and the death note, wouldn’t change her so much.
“Ok, I want the eyes. But first, tell me the price.”

This girl was interesting. Oana had never been outside of war buffs and this was already going smoothly for her as if she had been doing this for quite some time. Her grey speckled wings flapped gracefully as she hovered over the girl. Her intake of information so far in the past couple of seconds impressed the little shinigami and made her grin seem even more crooked as she continued to think.
As she was, Oana looked down at her notebook. the only setback was that she wasnt a free shinigami yet, she had to possess more than one person to roam just a little more, but she could not think about that now, she was on busness, and business had to be done for her day to be complete.
The little shinigami nodded at the girls obvious question, " to get my eyes, you must give up half of your lifespan. meaning if you have 50 years left you go to 25, 10 to 5, you get the picture I suppose." though she knew it probably made a big difference to this girl, she was excited to her she wanted the eyes. her smile gleamed, " not that it makes a difference, you humans need know that what a shinigami needs you dont. A shinigami's life is extended everytime we write in it, but the more a human writes in it the shorter their life gets. So the eyes will only benefit in your killings." she knew if she got too far off topic the girl wouldnt make the deal, so she had to save some things until she decided to keep it.
" if you dont want the notebook, you can always give it to someone else." she chuckled again, " but i can assure you after I wipe your memories of the note you would become a human statistic callously blamed on crime. I tend to get rid of all of my toys."

Half of my remaining life, and I can see anyone’s name… and kill them A great price, for an even greater power. Takitsu realized that she had been thinking as a murderer since the Shinigami showed up, but it really didn’t bother her anymore. She was more focused on the deal for the Shinigami Eyes. She wanted them… was she willing to give up half of her life? Maybe I should ask how long I have left… no, I doubt she’ll tell me, whether she’s allowed to or not Takitsu bit her lip again, thinking. I gotta be positive; if I make this deal, there’s no turning back
Takitsu started to wonder what all she could do with the Eyes of the Shinigami. She’d have the power of Kira, and then some. Unless, the First or Second Kira had also made the deal. What would Kira do, if he somehow found her, found out she had a death note, and the eyes. Would Kira kill her? Or would he find her of use? The whole thing made her head spin.
But she had to make a choice, and she had to make it quick. If she said yes, she’d lose half her life, but it’d be easier to protect herself. If she said no, she’d keep her life, yet it would be hard work to find her victim’s name. Crime had drastically decreased since Kira came into the picture, yet there were still those few who thought they could commit a crime and get away with it. They never did.
“The more a human writes in it, the shorter their life gets.” The more I write, the shorter my life gets… Well, it’s not like I’ll be writing in it all the time… Takitsu thought, looking up at the Shinigami. Half of her wanted to make the deal here and now, the other half wasn’t so sure either way.
Give the notebook to someone else?! Takitsu might not be sure about the eyes just yet, but she was positive she wanted the notebook. Wipe my memories… get rid of her toys? Takitsu sighed. To her, it sounded like the shinigami planned to kill her off later on, anyway. So… She thought, a smile slowly growing on her face. I may as well have some ‘fun’ while I can.
“I’ve made my choice. Please, give me the Eyes of a Shinigami.”

Oana had given the girl all of the time she needed to think about it and let it sink in. But when she agreed to it, Oana gave a sqeal of delight, clasped her hands together and the leathery wings on her head fluttered happily. She almost never was able to do a shinigami trade in quite some time and it was more fin when she did it.
Oana's long bony fingers wrapped lovingly around the girls chin, " Hold still and relax," Oana replied, " this wont hurt a bit." Suddenly, the left bang parted like a curtain slowly to reveal not an eye, but bright shining light. something unusual for a shinigami. as the curtain opened wider, the light shined brighter. Soon the two of them were enveloped in a blinding white light that was fine for oana, but she didnt know how the human would take it. In the light, Oana looked down to the new charge and saw her bright red eyes develop on the girl bit by bit thats enough
Oana pulled away from the girl and the light faded, the curtains finally closing until her raven bangs were once again covering her shinigami eyes. she slinked her hands from the girls chin and stood back, obviously proud of her creation, " there! All done! and no needles or death or anything. you should be able to see everyone's name and lifespan."

Takitsu grinned; the shinigami seemed happy at her choice. The girl gave a happy sort of squeal, and a second pair of wings revealed themselves on her head. It wasn’t as creepy as her smile; it still had an eerie feeling to it. But Takitsu had pretty much adjusted to it, so it didn’t bother her as much as it used to.
She shivered a little when the shinigami touched her; her fingers were long, and were bonier than any human’s. But she managed to relax and hold herself still, as the girl had instructed. The hair in front of the shinigami’s left eye gave opened up, but instead of an eye, Takitsu saw nothing but a bright light. It shone brighter as the hair moved, and Takitsu found she had to squint slightly. The light enveloped the two of them, and Takitsu felt her eyes tingle a little, as if she were about to cry. But she felt no tears forming. It must be happening She thought happily. The Eyes are forming.
Takitsu watched from half-open eyes as the light faded behind the shinigami’s bangs once more. Closing her eyes, Takitsu felt the bony fingers leave her chin. The tingling feeling had gone away; her eyes felt no different than before. Time to try them out Takitsu thought, as she heard the approaching footsteps, and loud laughing of a group of probably drunk teenagers. She smiled, slowly opening her new eyes and looking behind her.
She’s right! I can see their names and life spans Takitsu’s smile became wider as she stared at the numbers and names floating above all the teenagers’ heads. The numbers seemed to dance around, never staying in one exact place. But Takitsu wasn’t nearly as interested in the numbers as she was the names. Wait a sec… is it right to kill an innocent teenager? Takitsu thought. Then she heard one of them say something about “what a great steal that was” and another agree “we should hit that house again.” Takitsu blinked, and then grinned. Not so innocent, I see. Now… who shall be my first victim? She wondered for a second, before picking a name at random. Hanoru Aiko… sucks to be her Takitsu thought cruelly, looking at one of the girl’s closest to her. She started fishing around inside her bag for a pen. Flipping open the Death Note, she took another glance at the How To Use on the inside of the front cover. Simply die of a heart attack? Takitsu scowled. She didn’t want this to be mistaken for another Kira killing, but wanted the death to be quick. She thought for a moment, before writing ‘Hanoru Aiko: Killed by car accident’ in tidy characters.
She closed the death note, and put away the pen. Still grinning, she turned around, watching the group of delinquents. Sure enough, one of the other teens had playfully shoved Aiko, and Aiko, being drunk, had tripped and landed in the middle of the street. Giggling and hiccupping, Aiko stood up, turning to her friends and laughing. What an idiot… she doesn’t bother to get out of the street Takitsu grinned. Almost….
Out of nowhere, a black car, with music so loud that Takitsu could make out every word, bounded around the corner, and Aiko had just enough time to turn towards it, and let out a small shriek. Takitsu heard a bump and a choking noise. Then silence. The driver had turned off his car, and had rushed out of it. Aiko’s drunk friends were silent, horrified looks stuck on their faces. The driver checked Aiko’s pulse, then shook his head. He pulled out his cell phone, probably to call for an ambulance.
There was no doubt; Aiko was dead.
Takitsu blinked, then turned back to the shinigami, a satisfied, and slightly creepy grin crawling on her lips.
“It works. I’m glad,” she said, hugging the Death Note to her chest. “By the way… What do I call you?”

Oana had watched in total fascination as the human began to look around for potential victims. She was taking this a lot better than Oana expected. she was so used to it taking forever for someone to choose. usually it was a day or two before they even thought of it again ( despite the painful reminder of the little girl floating by them 24/7) She had found her victim almost instantly, and judging by what the little shinigami could hear, they were hardly innocent bystanders.
Before Oana could react to the sudden idea, the girl had fished for a pen, took it out, and wrote the girls name, and surprisingly, a type of death. Oana tipped her head to the side. If this kid wrote a death, they might have just drastically increased their chance of surviving the day with her. Heart attacks were boring to her, the deaths hd to vary for her to feel they have extended the full abilities of her notebook and didnt just fill it with heart attacks as kira had done.
Oana's head snapped to the teenagers again and watched the girl fly into the street. The possibilities ran in flashes through Oana's head and were fufilled with the black car careened down the corner and hit her head on. Oana knew the girl was dead before she landed.
And her new charge seemed satisfied with this, she could see the sadistic grin inching on her lips and Oana laughed. She was glad it worked? from then on, she realized, there was no fear, and Oana got a better deal than she expected. these human might not be as useless as i had expected.

Takitsu was fully aware that the Death Note had changed her. The power of being able to kill someone just by knowing their name could overwhelm just about anybody. Hm… so much for being careful She thought sarcastically. But she couldn’t say she didn’t like her new attitude. She wasn’t scared of the Death Note, wasn’t scared of Oana, and definitely was scared to kill. In fact, killing was a thrill for her. She felt she could understand why Kira had killed so many criminals; she herself had the urge to kill off the rest of the drunkard teens. But she resisted, letting the shock and excitement of her first kill sink in.
“Obviously, you know I am Takitsu,” Takitsu stated, staring at Oana. Curiosity nagged at her again, and she opened the Death Note’s cover, skimming through the rest of the How To Use. I can add details about the death? Takitsu thought, excited. I can even manipulate the time of death! How fun Her lips curled once more into a smile, though it quickly disappeared. If she stayed here much longer, someone might suspect her. Not Aiko’s drunkard friends, of course, but maybe the man who had hit Aiko, or even one of the paramedics. There’s no way they’d believe she’d seen nothing, and if they found the Death Note, well, all her new powers would disappear as quickly as they had come.
She snuck the notebook into her purse, pushing aside various candies to make room. Taking out her list, she began to walk away calmly. If only those who have touched the Death Note can see Oana… I’ll assume that means they can’t hear her either. Talking to myself would seem pretty suspicious, so… Takitsu flipped up the hood of her jacket, on which she’d sewn perky grey cat ears. This way, no one would be able to hear her or see her mouth moving, except Oana. All the risks were finally settling in, though Takitsu held no regrets about the notebook, or her eyes. My eyes… Takitsu pulled out a small compact, flipping it open and peering in the mirror. Her eyes were a bloody red. Definitely not normal. Crap, how do I turn these off?
“Oana,” she said. The shinigami had to have followed her, Takitsu remembered reading something about the person who posses the Note is possessed by a god of death. “How do I turn these off? I can’t walk around with red eyes.”
