There has been a slight update in the rules. It's by no means a drastic change, but an addition we felt was necessary, since lately we've been noticing some less than satisfactory developments in-character.
The reason for this is that characters weren't being linked to the plot in proper fashions, and certain inconsistencies were showing up around applications and even in role-play posts. As such, we felt the need to draw everyone's attention to this matter.
The only change is that this new rule has been added, more as a reminder:
That's all for the time being, but everyone is strongly encouraged to be cautious with this from now on.

We have also chosen a new member for the character spotlight. Please give your congratulations to Dazzle, who certainly deserves it. Having been with us for quite some time, Dazzle has consistently posted adequate and well-constructed roleplay posts, is active in all parts of the forum, and is always pleasant to associate with.

Realism. This is a VERY important point of the rules. The setting in which the plot of Death Note takes place is constructed as a very realistic version of our world, and as such it functions by certain REGULATIONS. Your characters won't automatically know what you, as a reader/viewer know about things such as the Kira case, Wammy's House, L's and Raito's whereabouts, etcetera. As such, if your characters don't realistically have a reason to know such things, they shouldn't. Period. Also, do try to pay proper respect to the layout and functioning of certain locations and facilities in the canon material.
