Mafia?

Hey everyone.

I was wondering, is there an active Mafia organization? If so is it possible for me to join it as a recruit?

If there is no current organization I can be like an accomplice to Mello. I am willing to give my time to writing up formats and such for making a character for the Mafia. I am also willing to do separate RP's with all of the players who wish to join.

The Mafia here is what Mello was a part of when he was hunting for the Death Note, so it's not really an actual 'Mafia' where it's organized here as a recruiting thing. Anyone who wants to be part of it merely has to make their character for it, explaining how they got involved with it in their history and such, just as we would expect for anyone part of the KSIU, NPA, etc.
And Mello's only actual accomplice was Matt, who he officially joined up with only after the members of the Mafia he was part of were killed. Him having another accomplice would defy canon.

And Mello wasn't the official leader of that group. Like any other Mafia organization, they had a boss, who in turn answered to Mello only for his own gain.

So is it possible I could join the Mafia even though my profile didnt fit it?

I mean I can make a topic where I discover and join it right?

To do that you'd have to have your character living in the United States, and probably be from there, too. So I'm not entirely certain your character would fit, as it does have to be realistic due to the nature of this series. You could make another profile for it, but here the Mafia group is American, not the Yakuza, and that should be taken into account. You could even make a character part of another sort of Mafia-type group, but I do monitor the realism of every character who is from somewhere outside Japan's movements. If you do make a Mafia member, they won't really have much to do right now, and you'll have to have a reason for them to be in Japan, and a believable one at that should you place them there.
