I'm in the process of creating a character application for Near. You can go visit the thread in the 'pending' section - it's rather sparse, at the moment.
Well, here I am at a lovely 3:26:15 in the morning, typing up a roleplay sample for the character to better get me gunned for writing his description and such, to set the tone. Near's is a very particular tone, one that I'd very much regret screwing up if I'm to play the character. Anyways, I was typing this lovely roleplay sample for myself and quite enjoying it, feeling rather creative, gunning out some nice word play, shiny little puns ... everything starting to fall into place and fit the tone for Near ... and .... suddenly ... a good five paragraphs in, midst meticulously detailing the ironic-in-hindsight accidental destruction of one of N's card towers ...
-insert heart attack here, furious pants and gagging and painnnn-

Did it save that hour or so's work? Hell to the naw. Hell. to. the. naw.
I'm so incredibly angry right now that I simply must go to the fridge and pull out a few more cans of Mountain Dew to console myself. Not to mention, I'm utterly devoid of energy to type that up again. I have pretty good memory when comes to words, sometimes darn near eidetic ... but O.M.G. THE EFFORT. -dejected sigh-
I despise computers and seriously rue the fact that I'm one of those people that composes best at a keyboard. Ah, well ... maybe now that the ideas for the sample are composed in my head, they'll flow out effortlessly and even more eloquently than they did at first. Nonetheless, I thought that warranted a rant... -_-
