Taka sat quietly in the corner of one of dozens of local cafe's. His laptop was open on the table infront of him, and he looked out of place with his usual atire of suit pants, open white shirt with a stripped shirt underneath. He had chosen the cafe as it had wireless for his laptop, and so he couldnt be tracced back to his home.
He knew it wouldnt be too much protection if someone made a concerted effort. They could trace him to the university, but that couldnt be helped so he took the precautions he could. Of course saying this he had many precautions on his computer, being related to a top programmer, and being one himself did leave him with some knowhow on how to protect himself, and his laptop was protected with the best money could buy.
Why all this protection? Well Taka had a mission, he was hunting for the infamous kira. He knew kira lived in his area, L had told the world he suspected that on national television, and he didnt feel L was wrong from the information he had gathered online in the last few months.
Of course, searching for this information was tedious at the best of times, since Kira came to public notice, the world had become fixated. Anti-Kira sites by the bucketfull. Yet latly more pro kira sites had shown up, alot more. Taka quite obviously detested kira to the very core of his soul. Taka had a sense of justice, and knew what kira was doing was murder, no matter who he did it to.
Over the past few months, Taka had gathered near a thousand pages of information. He had the list of deaths by heart attack, and had narrowed it down to whom he thought kira would target. He had a map on his computer showing the concentraitions of kills. He searched through fan and anti kira sites, gather the small tidbits of possibly usefull information from the mountains of crap people posted. "How could people think nuts like that" Taka thought, "Deep down they are all animals, no worse than animals". This thought disturbed him, he loved life and the people in it. Yet what he read was getting to him, these peoples love for kira. Requests for him to kill those they disliked. He couldnt understand people sometimes.
So he sat, in the corner of a cafe, tired, waiting for emails and such from others who were investigating kira, or just anyone to talk to, he knew anyone could have the info he would seek.

Suddenly, Taka's screen went black, a giant, ornate E appearing on his screen. Under the E, a text box of some sort seemed to appear. Inside it, messages began appearing. They read as follows...
"Hello. My name is E. I am a detective with the FBI, currently beginning my travel to Japan. Please keep in mind, this IP Address has been tracked. I don't care how much protection you put on your computer, you've been found. I'd like to inquire as to your recent viewing of certain websites regarding the murderer Kira."
A photo of a few of the men Kira has killed popped up, nearby. "Of course, you obviously know who Kira is. However, I and my peers have noticed that you visit both pro and anti Kira sites. This leads me to believe one of two things. You are either a man trying to catch Kira, or you are, in fact, Kira yourself. If it's the former, I'd like to make you a deal. If you find anything about Kira, tell me, and I'll use what sway I have over international and foreign affairs to act based on this. However, if you are Kira, know this. I am not one to take lightly. Expect to be captured, quite easily, I'd wager, and tried. After this, you'll be executed, without fail."
Another, smaller box appeared over the messages. There were two options within this box, marked 1 and 2. "If you are Kira, hit number 1, and I will try to get you a lighter sentence. However, if you are a man investigating Kira, hit 2, and we will speak more on this subject. If you have any questions, type them. They will be redirected straight to me."

Taka starred for a moment at the screen in shock. "How did he find me? How did he breach my firewalls? Was I really this careless?" he thought to himself. "Can this man really be trusted? Could he be kira just trying to find a name and face? I know he needs them to kill, so perhaps his after me. But the chance is too good if this is true, I can get in on the real investigation" he thought.
These thoughts rushed through his head in a matter of seconds before he quickly came to a decision. He slowly hovered his mouse over the two for a moment before clicking down. "Now I wait and see" he thought, "If its kira, at least I know I got close enough for him to hunt me, if it isnt, then I will have a partner in this madness." he thought.

The options box disappeared, and the text began scrolling once more. "I am happy to see that you've made the right choice. I'm going to bring up a video feed of myself, so you know I am serious about this." A new window opened, and Ed's upper torso was shown. He spoke, rather than continuing his typing. "Hello, I am E. I doubt you've heard of me in Japan, though it's certainly a possibility. I'd like to thank you for participating in this survey. I will be airing the results on my reality show, which can be found on the internet, at www.therealitybye.com. It will also be aired internationally in the United States, if by any chance you happen to visit. You shall be compensated for your answer, and..." The speaking continued, and the text began scrolling in the previous window once more. "Tell me, look around discreetly. Is there anyone watching you? If so, even if they simply look curious about the video, do not respond. If not, then please tell me so." He had been planning this for the past 30 minutes. He was going to put it all on the line, as this was the only way to figure out who you could trust. He awaited the answer, taking a swig from a large bottle of soda sitting next to him...

Taka slowly turned around. It didnt seem like anyone was watching him, the cafe was fairly packed and him in one of the corners, "Lucky I have my earphones in" he thought to himself, feeling glad that nobody had taken notice he turned back to the computer. "Nobodys watching" he replied slowly, as he typed in the adress he had been given and waited for what would come next.

Ed laughed. He typed more messages. "I'm key-logging your computer at the moment, and trust me, that website is completely false. I made a homepage, but nothing else. Now, I want you to stand up, and make your way to the nearest public access private room, such as a bathroom or something of that sort. I cannot risk broadcasting this information to those nearby. If there is a lock where you go, please lock the door. Also, before exiting, be sure to perform any usual activities you would do upon your exit, such as washing your hands, or flushing a toilet."
Ed wondered how willing this subject would be to perform these tasks. He was assuming the target was using a portable computer. If he was not, he would merely respond as such, and he would go with plan B. Taking another sip of soda, he cracked his neck, awaiting a response...

"One moment" Taka replied, slowly rising and exiting the cafe, laptop in hand completly. He knew it was possibly he was being followed so he wanted to take more precautions, he walked along the street towards another nearby cafe, and walking to the back, entered the bathroom.
It was an upend cafe, and the bathroom gleamed of marble. Taka, taking no note of the surroundings entered the stall furtherest from the door, and after locking it, sat down on the closed lid and opened his laptop back up. Placing his headphones in his ears, he awaited E to respond.

After giving him a considerable amount of time, E decided he would begin the next step. He began speaking gibberish once more, but typing the important things. "Through the link that I gave you, a Trojan Horse has infected your computer. Do not attempt to eliminate it. Through it, I am downloading all files within your machine. If you attempt to halt the process, you are the prime suspect. If I find anything that may incriminate you, I shall contact you and ask about it. My name is Ed Thompson. I've been an FBI Agent for almost 6 years, and I'm currently the finest detective in America. I've been wanting to apprehend Kira for quite a long time, but I am just now getting out of the country."
He finished off his soda bottle, and picked up another from the floor. "Tell me, what is your interest in the Kira Case, exactly? I'm quite interested."

Taka sat silently allowing E to do what he wished. "His good" he thought, "Being able to get into my computer, if I had the equipment he did, there no limit to what I could do". "My intrest in the case" Taka began slowly typing, "Is that what Kira is doing is unjust. If we just allow people to kill, even criminals, humanity will slip away from us".

Ed smirked. He began typing. "So, you're an idealist? Well, that's nice. But, then again, so is Kira. Me? I'm willing to risk it all to win. I'm going to be the best, and Kira is going to be my stepping stone to greatness. Now, I'm impressed with your determination. I've been tracking what websites and how long you've been on them. Each day, for a few hours at least, you appear to check out multiple Kira supporting and damning sites. That's why I'm going to ask you to join me."
He erased his name from the chat. The man now had his name, and his face. And, unless he was Kira or an accomplice, he was now in a secure location, so he was the only one that had seen his name. Moments before starting the chat, he had informed both the CIA, and sent a message to L, telling them of the IP he was following, and informing them that, in the event of his death within the next few days, he was either chatting with Kira or someone who may know something about him.
"Well, I'm willing to let you work with me on this case. I need you to gather as much information on Kira the individual, not the god, as you can. I'll need something to start with. Do this, and I'll message you again as to our meeting place. Are you willing?

Taka sat and smiled and began typing, "Its already done, I think I have all I can from these sites". "Here im sending through all I have, even if you are kira it doesnt matter if you have what I have" taka typed, before dragging up the file with all he collected and sent it through. "I know you already would know most of this by the sounds, but there might be something in there to help" he typed. "But a proposition. Your equipment seems good, if you like this when we meet give me access. Even if L wont co-operate I can give you access to his information Im sure. If he can even better, I can search every website constantly for key words we re looking for" he finished typing. "This will give us around the clock watch on all the sites. I could do even more, but im not sure your views on the ethics of privacy. I want to win this one to."

Ed smirked. "I have no ethics when it comes to this." He typed. This was not true. Ed believed himself perfect. So, of course, he'd hold ethics just to prove that he can both keep his morals, and be the best. "I'm willing to hire you. However, I will not pay you, and you will never be in direct contact with me. Send me a list of what you want, and I will do my best to acquire it for you. I will install a program that will allow me to view files as I wish, so you will save all of your findings to the computer."
He laughed. An informant, already. This was going to be easier than he had thought...

Taka smiled. He had completely forgotten he was in a toilet in a cafe. He slowly began to type, "The best of everything you have. I want the best of everything. I want complete firewall protection, better than the US government had. I dont want anyone except you and me to be able to see whats on this computer. Give me this, and you'll get all you need. Also, a pistol, I want a pistol." he finished typing.

Ed chuckled. "I can get you the best hardware available, even some prototypes, possibly, but I can't promise the firewall will be better than that of my government. You see, I don't like the way you put that. But you'll probably have the strongest firewall a civilian can get." He paused. "As for the pistol, it should be no problem."
He took a long swig from his bottle of soda. "Where do you want me to drop this hardware? Do you have anywhere safe?" He wondered if he could truly trust this man to keep his identity a secret. "Also, if I ever see my name on any of your files, or find you typing it via a keylog, I will cut off communication, and have you arrested and charged, am I clear?"

"My apartment should be secure enough, not many people have my address. If you could, if you could also send some extra security things, camera's and locks and such. Also if possible, a decent mobile phone, from that I should be able to link it to the cameras in my apartment, that way I can keep a watch on it. And the firewall should be fine, i'll reinforce it a bit myself. And I wont ever type your name, shall I just refer to you as E? Will there be a way I can contact you?" he finished typing.
