Zet sipped casually from his cup as he waited for "Zoey" to arrive. Due to a heightened police involvement in the organization's location, he had not been able to contact her right away. Even so, he expected her to show up within a three hour notice. If she couldn't even do that he would be truly disappointed in Kin's abilities to select candidates for training. He wouldn't mind too much himself for it would be less work for him, but it was now his time to show that he could be a true leader and moved up in the eyes of Kin. For now, this girl was his best chance.
Even when he was on leave from official duties he still likes working for it allowed him to show a sense of contribution. Even now, he had a squad of infiltration units scattered around the Wammy House area to see if they could get any new catches. So far the morning had been empty of any real finds so he was quite bored now. But, he would not stop in such a case for he could miss a great opportunity if he did. As these thoughts occurred to him, he heard light footsteps approaching his table. It seemed that his pupil had finally arrived. Hopefully she was as good as Kin had made her out to be for he had given her quite a challenge. But, then again he expected no less from such a supposed prodigy. Now it was time to see if she could live up to what Kin made her out to be.

Every image, map after map, opening after opening, trap after trap, all of these nooks and crannies had been burned into her mind over the last couple of weeks. She had memorized the work she was given by Zet in a matter of hours, but knowing how much she was going to be tested, she had looked over it a couple of times more before dozing off, if she was going to be going through intense tests by mister Zet, she had to be prepared for anything. she had memorized that and a couple of other maps so msany times that you could ask her without her music and probably get the same results. But she wanted her music for support, it was nothin g to be afraid of, Zet was nothing to be afraid of...
She approached the table with a casual flair, her long black hair tied into a low ponytail trailing down her back. She was now in a black tank top 4 sized too big that went about 4 inches below her lower curves ( like a short dress) and she wore baggy blue jeans and flip flops, a look she didnt seem to have when she and Zet hd first met one another. She was expressionless, but she could feel the tension in the air, he really didnt like her. The music was low on her earbuds and gave hints of classical ballet music as subtle as the background music on TV.
" So Mister Zet," she began to get rid of the silence, " I am here, what do i have to do." Kagumi had a slight idea what might be coming, but she wasnt entirely sure.

When she finally got Zet's attention, he slightly turned towards her. She definitely feared him, if that was the correct word to use in such a situation, but less then he had expected. That most likely meant that she was confident in her abilities or what she memorized. He supposed they would both find out soon enough. But, there were other reasons for this test then just to get down straight to the facts.
"I hope that you are ready to be tested soon enough. But, for now you can just relax. I have already ordered one of everything off of the menu here to give you a good selection. I have also imported some of the freshest juice available due to your age," he said obviously ignoring the fact that they were virtually the same age," Please sit down for it would be quite tedious to continue standing. You may also remove your music if you wish. Don't worry, though, I will let you keep them on during the actual testing. Any question?"
As he spoke, he watched the screen on his laptop intently. It seemed that someone else from the organization had sent their own task force to keep tabs on the Wammy House. He had no fear that his men would get caught, but if any suspicion was raised he could be in trouble for employing a unregistered unit. But, they were the best of the best and he knew they could not be caught by a lower class team just for visual confirmation. If he was correct it was probably just watching some of the star students at that location such as Near or the like. As much as he would have loved to ponder on this, he noticed the food was coming; not that it was hard to miss of course for it required several waiters just to bring part of it.

relax?
Kagumi took a short breath and looked at Zet with a curious look only she could give. She didnt really trust anyone outside of the whammy house ( not really that many inside either) and she knew Zet didnt really like her that much either, so even if she did relax, she had to keep her guard up just in case, or else she probably wouldnt live that long to tell the tale. She knew she was in something that she couldnt keep her guard down no matter how hard she wanted to.
As Kagumi slid into the chair, she looked at all the waiters and memorized their faces down to the last detail mole and feckle covering it up only as a casual glance. She looked out the window, if she remembered the map correctly there sould have been 2 building in front of that window. She counted and memorized, yep that was it. with that she inhaled, exhaled and smiled, " thank you." she said with a slight nod.

As Zet looked over her one last time, he returned to his screen slowly munching on a cupcake. She definitely was taking in every detail around them. There really was no doubt in his mind that she could answer every technical answer that could be dreamt of about the buildings she had studied. The real question was if she could use this information into greater understanding and thinking. He could also tell she was quite suspicious of him, for which he did not blame her. But, she would have more uses for him then she or Kin had ever planned.
"Don't worry," Zet said trying to reassure her," I won't spring anything on you or anything like that. I just believe most people think better on a full stomach. Of course, if you don't want any of this we can go straight down to business. But, I was hoping that you would be in a more chatty mood. For, I have always believed that food is the best thing to talk around. Its all up to you of course. It would just be nice to know more about my pupil and what interests you have in all of this rather nasty business that we run. That wouldn't be too bad, now would it?"
As Zet finished up his question he took a sip of his tea, constantly adding honey as he drank. It seemed that his infiltration team had already disposed of the opposing opposition. He had of course made the deaths of all the individuals as normal as possible. He had even thrown in some poisons that would make all traces of death point to heart attack. He was sure that would rile up some interest in the area by the organization giving him more freedom in other areas of exploration. For now though he would need to push those thoughts out of his mind to give his full concentration to his apprentice.

With this, Kagumi relaxed a little more, leaning back slightly in the chair. She knew she was being cynical of Zet, she had half of a mind to even give him a chance, after all, if they wanted to get rid of her, they most likely would have by now. though her intelligence, even Kagumi wasnt sure of her full capabilities and usefullness to the organization. All she knew is that only Zet knew, thats why she was his apprentice.
Kagumi sighed, realizing her defeat, and she pulled a peice of cheesecake and some black coffee, " Well thank you mister Zet, i hadnt really been eating much so this is well worth it." she began pouring in sugar to her coffee and waited about a minute before she stopped, then she had to add the creamer, which was about 20 or 25 of the little packets before she stirred it all and drank. the sugar rush given by that alone was keeping her awake.
then she dove into the cheesecake, putting the strawberry aside to nibble on later and eating the cheesecake peice by torturous peice, savoring each one with a small smile as she usually did eating things like that.

As Zet looked her over one last time, he noticed that she was deprived of more then just food to say the least. By what he could tell she was definitely being overworked and not getting enough sleep. But, he supposed that was about average for a child in the Wammy House. He supposed that the sugar here would at least keep her awake for now and maybe slightly off her guard so she would give more straight-up answers instead of being delicate. For, while delicacies were fine in food, Zet didn't believe that they belonged in conversation unless you were a politician.
"I'm glad you are enjoying the food that I have brought for you, for you obviously needed it, if you don't mind me being so straight-forward. But, I believe that we need to start your testing soon. Even so, I would like to ask you a few questions before we start with that trivial task. My first and foremost question to you is quite simple actually and I would prefer that you answer it truthfully. Were do you place your most trust within this organization? Not too difficult now is it."
As he let her ponder over his question he took several more sips of his tea. He knew that he would have to report back to the organization soon over how she did on her testing, but he had no doubts that she would easily answer all of the provided questions required by the organization. So, he believed that if he used his time wisely enough he could get a better feel for his trainee of sorts and be able to mold her more to his will. But, those were thoughts for a later time, for it was far too early to think about the end when the beginning has not even happened yet.

As kagumi downed a cup of coffee, she listened closely, knowing full well what was coming, if the beginning situation was strictly questions, this would be simple, the simplest part. When she became tired, she was a no nonsense person, all she had to do was tell what she thought, and then he wiuld think about that, very sinple agreement right?
Kagumi dove her fork into the cheesecake and took a bite. What did she put her trust in? He was right, the question was simple, no doubt about it. She swallowed and looked at zet," I put the most trust in knowing that the organization can aquire the information other places break their necks to find." She took another bite. It was an odd answer, but kagumi knew full well that if there were a secret, they would know before it spread. If they wanted kira, they could probably work hard to get him or her. She put the trust in that.
She didn't know how zet would take that, but the minute the food went into her system, she didn't care. She knew they had a more hidden agenda that they didn't want to say, but kagumi had to figure as long as they scratched her back, she'd scratch theirs.

As he thought over her answer it was quite obvious as to why she chose it. Being stuck in an orphanage separated from the rest of the world so long, anyone would want to know as much as they could. There also seemed to be a great interest of Kira within her for it seemed to drive her harder somehow. For now he would take that as a good sign and overlook it, but if it continued on some suspicions would have to be raised for security to be maintained.
"Yes, a very interesting but true statement on your part. I do hope though that you haven't set your expectations too high for the current situation. You must remember that our actions in Italy were not so long ago as forgotten. This has forced us to lie low for the time being. There is also the threat of Kira currently and we cannot get ourselves too involved in the current situation. This has forced us to become an Intel group at best. But, when we have succeeded in certain areas and goals we can once again show our true intents and redeem this country. But, I suppose there are some things to get over before that will be possible. I hope that you can see that our current actions are best, no?"
As he finished his next part of the questioning, he took a quick look at the time. He was due to report within the hour and time was getting shorter by the second. Hopefully, he could pull off a disconnection without being detected to have an excuse for not reporting on time. But, he would have to be very delicate or he would set off the computer's built-in security system created by Kin Marr himself. The main purposed of the security system was to stop any information from falling into the wrong hands. But, it also seemed to work quite well at stopping anyone within the organization from getting out of line.

The minute Kagumi felt the sugar flow through her system, she was now fully awake and ready for business. now that she was up and her mind was clear, she absorbed Zet's every word like a human sponge. " By all means yes, to lie low would be the best thing for the higher ups, but you and Mr. Kin should know this will not change my intent of the kira investigation. if you do decide to go above ground, i would suggest you go overground when Kira has a feel of everyone after him. If he's fighting against one with the dedication i predict he had, it gives the perfect chance to work in the shadows as puppeteers to the others." once again, these things tended to roll off of her tongue and she gave a smile, " but by all means, it is best while the case is still fresh to stay underground."
She had finished another in her series of long complicated answers and she was unsure how Zet planned to react to this. She had no reason to lie yet, she was going to do it, but as she said before, it was a tit for tat situation. as long as they scratched her back, she would be more than willing to scratch theirs. Just as she learned it whammy house, that was business.

As he continued to delicately break through the online security he forced himself to hold back a yawn. It wasn't that he was necessarily bored, which was an very often problem for Kin, but rather the sheer lack of sleep. The last time he had actually been able to call something sleeping would have been weeks ago if not more. It seemed that the longer the Kira case developed the less and less sleep he got. But, he had too much to do to let humanly needs get in his way. As long as he could get the girl occupied until he could completely concentrate on the situation with her.
"Don't worry yourself too much now. We don't plan on being a shadow organization for long. Many of our final plans have finally been pushed into motion. With the help and excuse of the Kira case to bolster ourselves we should be able to take our true position once again. But, the whole death thing is quite the complication and may be more then we had anticipated for. But, we have contracted more agents then we originally planned to make up for this fact. Simply put you would have been one of these but Kin saw a greater purpose for you under me. I'm still not sure if that was the best solution in this situation, but it will soon be decided. I hope you do not appose such a confrontation in the future."
As he finished his sentence he finally broke the last code in the security system. Double checking for hidden viruses and the like he continued on his infiltration. Before he could reach the files for a manual shutdown he noticed a nice sum of money extracted from the treasury. Investigating that in further detail he saw that Kin had hired a rather expensive assassin as well as another member of the Wammy House. Looking further into the boy's files he noticed that Intel had spotted him and the girl before him meeting several times. He would have to remember that in later conversation. But, realizing that he would soon be detected he initiated the manual override giving him truly free access of the next few hours.

As Kagumi tried to stifle an exhausted yawn, she noticed Zet mimick her. im not the only one who's sleep deprived, she thought with a smile. The Kira case seemed to have drain everyone of their needs, she had to ask herself if Kira was in the same state as them, Maybe he was just as tired as they were, he had to work harder to cover up all of his tracks with all of the organizations following him close behind. While they followed, he had to make the gap bigger, and it was the job of L to close tha gap.
" Oh I wont back down," she said simply, " I have no reason to," she thought over his words again and looked at him, " You and Kin keep saying that, that I have a bigger purpose than just being an agent." She crossed her arms and leaned back in the chair, " Is this something you plan to tell me soon? or am I going to be kept in the dark this entire time," If there's one thing that bugged her, it was being manipulated, she would rather know what she was doing than walk around blindly.
There was furious typing on Zets end he was doing more things at the moment than what she knew about. but she brushed it off, there were more things that were much more important to Zet than any kind of training, she could understand that, so all she did was continue to drink coffee contently as he typed.

As he clicked in the last key he looked over to her. He supposed that Kin had made it evident to her that she could be important to their success in the future. Thankfully, he could still probably play this off as advantages for Kin and his plans. He supposed he could let her in on some of the more trivial plots to keep her satisfied, but he suspected she would see through such an act and think they were trying to keep her in the dark. On the other side of the coin, if he told her too much she could lose loyalty for them because of her own beliefs. He would have to be very careful with his next few sentences.
"Well I believe Kin would inform you soon, but I believe that you are ready enough to learn of our plans. We plan on using the Kira case as a footstool once we have enough facts on the case. We can then gain the loyalty and trust of the public eye while keeping a low-profile since most broadcastings about the subject aren't released to other countries. With this in mind we could expand ourselves in more areas hopefully taking control of major industries and the like. This could hopefully put us in a spot for some government position and from there we could tactfully make a new nation. I know it may sound somewhat extreme but we believe that our views can be better established this time and we can more openly broadcast our opinions. If you can prove certain abilities to us, mostly me, then you will be able to help our cause."
As he finished, he thought that he had done a successful job of covering most information without revealing purpose. That would allow her to have something to think over for awhile without bringing up her role or complete purpose in the overview of the future. It was probably more then Kin would have liked her to know, but it would also put her in the best light for Zet. Hopefully he could just slide on breaking some conduct by sharing information by finding something useful that would keep the organization busy for awhile. Even better, he could probably get it from the girl right in front of him.

It was a long moment that he had to think over it, this wasn't a very good sign to kagumi, she knew that if she could infer anything from it, it would be a lucky guess. She looked emotionless at her tutor, her amber eyes flashing with the bit of will in her. She analyzed every word that came out of his thin mouth down to the last syllable. Still, though she smiled a bit, inside she was steaming, he had just avoided her question entirely. But he cearly was more than satisfied with his answer, it must have been far too much for her to know. Nonetheless, the black haired girl picked up the teacup and sucked away the last of the coffee.
When she sat it down, now she was to tread lightly. So really she had no choice but to be satisfied with his answer, that's all they planned to tell her for now, so she could only react to this with a simple," whatever you say."
