The more and more he pondered the more he seemed to be reading too much into this as the girl had come up with yet another reasonable possibility.This was all to catch Kira's attenion but Japan just hapened to notice.It made sense to Neo but why would some one want to contact kira.Two possibilities came to Neo's mind either A; the 2nd Kira wanted to discuss a partnersip of some sort. Or b: Maybe the first kira killed someone who had hurt the 2nd ,maybe this was a token of thanks?It might be it was farfetched.But Neo was more concerned as to where these unholy powers to kill came from in the first place.

"Whats really getting me is how are they able to kill in the first place?Its not exactly normal to kill a man without ever making contact with that person"

The more Kagumi thoght, it seemed the more this boy thought about it. She was surprised that no one gets anything out of what they see on television, it was very simlple and to the point, but no one could take it to the next level. and with his next question, there was a whole other level of thinking she had to reach along with the other detectives and people working on the case, it was the most important question that kept everyone on their toes, how can anyone kill someone miles away without physical contact? it was a step that if she hadnt gotten the information from the organization, she probably would never have figured out, but she didnt want to reveal too much of what she knew.

" that part was the kicker," she replied setting down her half finished candy bar, " Its a very confusing concept, but i had been reading old folklore and other books, and this might be truly supernatural, not godlike," she had to set the record straight just in case the person was a kira supporter and would go off in a religious rant, " but supernatural, i havent been able to find out what exactly. but i know its both bigger and smaller than the citizens make it out to be."

"Well I at first I though it was a well planned out string of drug over-doses.A meeting I attended suggested the US's FBI may have been invovled.It seemed feasable lots of drugs can cause a heart attark in large doses, like sodium penathol or dioxants.But none of that stuff showed up in the autopsies then when L went public with his Lind L.Taylor patsy, that threw all logical theories out the window.I agree with you on the whole supernatural thing.The power may not be God like specifically but maybe a lower level deity perhaps like maybe an angel of death.Just throwing things out there.

Neo remembered the notes he had seen when he had hacked into one of the investigator's computers.The note read "Did you know that Shinigami like apples?"He looked up Shinigami which translated to death god in english.He thought maybe it was some kind of clue as to the origin of the pwoer but having the Grim Reaper at your command seemed like a stretch even if this case was defying the natural laws of the world.

Kagumi had heard a theory or two, but never one like that, to say that it was the US or drug overdoses was indeed an oddity. If she remembered correctly, there was no autopsy report corroborating that story, sure enough, there wasnt. she had figured the cops were running around with their tail between their legs the entire time, especially when L began to zero in on kira. no one could take it up a notch and those who did were ridiculed, and with the things she investigated in the organization, she couldnt help but find it true.

" Agel of death?" her ears perked up, " it has to be, once again there is no doubt in my mind, but...." she looked up at him with amberglass eyes, " do you know in particular any folklore that matches this situation, that might be worth the while to look at?"

"Not really, other than the Grim Reaper.I did some research on it but its not really useful in formation other than he makes his appearance Before he takes his victims to the afterlife.No one' been reported to freak out before dying, except that one guy who was killed when he tried to hijack a bus.It might have happened but I would have to see it to believe it."

As Neo mulled it over a little more he remebered what he had discovered about the Shinigami.The belief was brought over to Japan from England during the Meiji period.So Shinigami and the Grim Reaper are basically the same.How the hell would someone interact with Death itself?And what about the message"Shinigami love apples"?

As Kagumi listened intently to what he had to say, she began to absorb things quickly and deeply. Grim reaper? from what she read on the grim reaper very little of it even tied in except for the fact the both have to do with death and lists, she had to figure those interpreted differently so it was possible that this made plenty of sense, but she felt like he knew a bit more than what she felt he was letting on. both of them had sometng to hide, it was a matter of who got to it first.

" hallucinations? what did he think he saw?"

"Who knows? The reports say he just kept telling whatever it was to go away.I mean he may have seen a shinigami, but according to his track record he was a junkie.So even if that was what he saw it would've been ignored as a hallucination induced by whatever he was on at the time rather than some kind of divine encounter with the "Angel of Death".

Neo's brain suddenly hit a brick wall and he stood there off in space for a little while.All this talk of kira had his mind going a mile a minute the crash was inevitable , Neo just didnt expect ity so soon.Instinctively his hand reached into his jacket pocket grabbing the bag of skittles.Neo then popped the last of the bag into his mouth, and crimbled the bag in his hand.Then the lights came back on in his brain.At a lost for words Neo just asked to most basic question he could.

"So what do you think?"

once again, her mind was a sponge, she had continued to consider every piece of information that was given to her, but something clicked in her mind, " ooooh, the legend of the shinigami, that changes everything! it fits better than the american grim reaper story." She bit off a piece of chocolate and grinned, " Shinigami are hardly angels, for him to be frightened of it more than admired by it makes a lot of sense," sh thought, " but if he is on something, maybe that made a good coverup for kira, it would be shooed off as absolutely nothing at all."
