[This is open to just one other person, please. ^-^]
Fate took a long sip of her mango juice, treasuring the feeling of the cool liquid running down her throat and the sweet taste of the fruit. The plastic bottle in her hand was nearly empty; its contents had been downed in a few minutes by the brown haired teen. She couldn’t stand unhealthy food. It’s artificial flavor, the horrible chemicals they added to “preserve” it...The thought sent a shudder down her spine. Who could stand to consume such disgusting things?
The sound of her footsteps was silent as Fate walked across a small park. The lush grass muted the noise, so her presence went unnoticed by most. There were a few groups of picnickers, several couples, and even a few bikers and joggers. Fate glanced over all these things quietly. She couldn’t help but memorize everything she saw, even though she didn’t care about it in the slightest. It was out of habit that she noticed every person, object, and movement...A week later, Fate would still probably be able to explain exactly what the clouds looked like.
Without warning, Fate suddenly allowed herself to fall into a sitting position beneath a large maple tree. For once, it wasn’t raining in London; the sun shone brilliantly. The pale teenager burnt easily, so she hid beneath the wide branches of the probably ancient tree. Her disheveled brown locks fell away from her face for a moment when Fate leaned her head back. It seemed for a few seconds that she was intensely fascinated by the light shimmering through the leaves, before she brought the bottle of juice to her lips and drank once again.
Fate watched the other park visitors quietly, setting down the now-empty plastic bottle. She had come to London without asking permission...leaving Wammy’s House had been easy enough. Fate wasn’t exactly sure whether she had been allowed to leave, but she hadn’t asked so she could always just say, “I thought we were allowed,” or some such thing. She had needed to get out for once. Fate would return soon enough.
