It must have been a Monday...
It was Ariella's favorite motto, and today this seemed to hold true as the day hadn't even begun and she was already having a bad day. Due to the raging storm from the previous night, her electricity had been shut off and came back on early that morning - though her alarm clock never went off - which at least caused her to be thirty minutes late. Strike number one. Then when she was able to get up, she realized the coffee pot wasn't even set, forcing her to wait at least fifteen more minutes before she could have her daily dose of coffee. Strike number two. And the last thing that managed to go wrong had been that her cars battery had died, causing her to be an hour more later. Strike number three.
Three strikes and you're out...
Okay, so the best thing about that very day for Ariella had been the complete fact that she didn't even have to go into work. Being that it was Monday, it happened to be her one and only Monday off that she got each month. Though, as she had decided the week earlier, she would go in anyways, just to copy off some papers that she could study on her day off, or at least to check in and see how everyone else was doing with the Kira investigation. Either way, it did give her a liable reason as to why she was going into work on her day off, and if need be she would offer to help that day anyways. It was just something that Ariella had recently gotten more so obsessed with. Perhaps not unhealthily obsessed, but enough that she didn't want to spend her day off doing nothing. She could do that any old time, but today, she wanted to help.
Now, anyone that knew Ariella would be able to tell she was a well organized person, meaning that she had a schedule for just about everything - from the time she woke up, to the time she went to bed that night - and to be behind on any one of those schedules would completely throw off the rest of her day and make her work around the schedule as much as possible. This was just something she had gotten into the habit of doing, even as a young child. All the same, she was at least an hour and thirty minutes late now which would throw her entire schedule off whack for the rest of the day. It was just one minor thing, and yet it was something that made a huge difference in Ariella's life. She liked having things scheduled out.
Though, as she found herself speeding down the streets, any schedule she had worked out in her head for that day seemed forgotten, as she had one thing on her mind. She needed to get to KSIU Headquarters very soon. It was only lucky for her that she didn't have that far to drive to begin with, it wouldn't take her but a few minutes to arrive and grab her things and then depart once again. That was, if she had any intention on leaving that day...Only time would tell.
But even the thought of leaving had left her mind as she pulled into a nearby parking space next to the building. Shutting off the engine, Ariella sat there for a moment listening to it idle before finally pulling down the sun visor and examining herself in the mirror, wanting to make sure she had managed to look decent. Her jet black hair was only half put up into a ponytail, allowing the other half to lay against her back. Though, this was quite unusual for herself, as she usually put it all up or left it all down, it was never both. Around her steel blue eyes were her small square glasses that once again she wouldn't usually wear on a normal basis, but today it seemed almost fitting.
Out of nothing else, Ariella had managed to pull on a pair of black pants and a nice red sweater that seemed to fold down so her shoulders were also visible. Her usual silver locket had been placed on her neck as well, though it was something that she never took off, so this wasn't at all unusual for herself.
Lingering just a moment longer then necessarily, Ariella finally manage to leave her car only to walk across the street to the actual KSIU Headquarters building, which was a few stories high, and most of the stories in which she had never visited herself. There were just far too many rooms in that one building that she didn't want to disturb them unless she knew what they were and that she had permission to enter any of those rooms.
Once in the building, Ariella took a moment to examine the main room which held a set of stairs, a couch under those stairs, and a group of computers. She was mildly surprised to find she ahd been the only one here, but instead of lingering on the thought, Ariella walked to the furthest computer in the room, sitting down and turning on the computer. The process of booting up the computer would take a few minutes...
Tap...Tap...Tap...
Impatiently, Ariella tapped her painted red fingernails against the desk in a rhythmic pattern, waiting as patiently as possible for the computer to load. Still, she couldn’t help but find the room to be empty, that was just unusual in itself...
All the same, it wasn't anything she needed to concern herself with for the time being.
