The courtyard was filled with kids of all ages as they rushed quickly to class, chatted with friends, made dates, and planned vacations. Blue eyes grazed the events before them and they narrowed suspiciously, tracking every movement and memorizing every face they came in contact with. Dark with determination and impatience, Yumi approached the iron gates that seemed to loom over her small stature.
Boldly she entered the grounds of the To-Oh University swallowing her fear and nerves. I'm twenty-four for goodness sakes! What do I have to be afraid of? she thought to herself as she walked towards the commons. Her white dress whipped back and forth rapidly through the wind as it tried to grab and jerk at the material.
Rolling her eyes she stared at the hundreds of students in awe as they continued about their daily activities. Glad she was no longer one of those students, Yumi continued to read their faces and her eyes rested on a girl swooning over a guy, his smirk giving off arrogance and power. Narrowing her eyes to slits she read him like a book,
Displays general male ego, particularly in groups of four or more. Shows power by attracting attention from women of equal power and status, continues to do so by dragging said women through trial upon trial until he loses his use for her and then discards her. Alone he is a confused and distraught adolescent, seeking idenity and meaning. Possibly unsure of who he want's to become or even who he is now. she thought deeply before turning her attention to a movement from the corner of her eye.
Turning around her heart raced as she stared hard into the emptyness of the grounds. Her hope was slashed as she thought for sure she would find L around, from what she could remember as a child, he loved being around intelligence. A frown sat upon her pink lips as she shook her head, she needed to think logically and with less emotion, otherwise how else would she find him?
Suddenly a loud ring pierced her ears and made her wince. Glaring now she wondered what the racket was and saw the students all filling into buildings. Classes were about to start. Sighing she turned back and raced towards the doors to catch up to her Psychology class, excited to be in a study she was well known for. Sitting in an empty desk she pulled out her laptop and began writing information down, unaware the seat next to her was occupied.
