Full Name: Mail Jeevas
Aliases: Matt
Gender: Male
Age: 13-19
Birthdate: February 1, 1990
Occupation: Student//None
Race: Human
Appearance:
Matt's chaotic wardrobe is of questionable origin. His specific look consists of various striped shirts, trousers resembling blue jeans, and a khaki vest with fuzzy lining. To finish his look he often wears fitted black, leather boots and gloves. Matt is 5'5", and truly has a small frame, though his torso appears more bulky when wearing his vest.
He has a peculiar auburn shade of hair, which is cut short, but seems overdue for trimming. His eye color is indeterminable, as it is often obscured by orange tinted goggles.
Matt's got a nasty penchant for smoking, and frequently has a cigarette hanging from his lips. It isn't really known if he's picky about what brand he smokes.
He can ordinarily be found with some handheld game or another, and tends to slouch over their tiny screens. Such slouching is found every time Matt is seated, and even when standing he tends to lean against the nearest wall or table.
History:
Unfortunately, practically nothing has been released about Matt's
history. He is an orphan who was brought to Wammy, and is bright enough to have taken third place in the succession for L. He has a close relationship with Mello, and was willing to die in order to assist in his companion's plans.
His childhood isn't specified, but it's assumed that he'd been friends with Mello at Wammy. It is unknown how Matt reacted to Mello's departure. It is also impossible to know what he did after that until Mello required his assistance following the explosion. It was awfully convenient for Mello to contact Matt and see him in person soon after, so it would be safe to assume he'd been in the states prior to the explosion of the mafia hideout. It's also possible that he and Mello had contact beforehand, as a backup plan.
It is also safe to assume that Mello stayed with Matt in order to heal from being burned, and that Matt might have taken on what Mello had started until he was recooperated enough to resume the investigation himself. It could also be assumed at while Mello was in the mafia, Matt was taking note on the Kira case, so it would be available to Mello upon his return. This way the mafia wouldn't know Mello's true intentions.
Personality:
Having only one friend, it is apparent that Matt is an antisocial person. However, he is highly loyal, going so far as giving his life to assist Mello in bringing down Kira. It also stands to reason that Matt is either terribly confident, or a dumb hippie, seeing as he went into a deadly situation with nothing more than a smokescreen gun. He seems to be a rather quiet person, expressing himself clearly with as few words as ossible. As seen in his dedicated surveillance of Amane, Matt is able to aintain focus during lengthy tasks.
Matt is a messy individual, given that half eaten food and wrappings litter his living space. He is terribly lazy, seeing as he simply throws his trash in the floor, rather than a trashcan.
He also seems a tad obsessed with his handheld games and he plays them at any given chance, even when doing his work on the Kira case.

Roleplay Sample:
The afternoon sun found Matt leaning against a rather uncomfortable wall, mashing the buttons of his new gameboy. The screen had color, something completely new, and he had not put it down since Roger had given it to him last night. He really ought to have been in class, but he could always say he had been in the library doing work. The room was quite empty during school hours, and Matt had enjoyed the quiet. At a sudden clang, he straightened himself, looking to the doors as two other children came inside. Turning back to the game, he scowled. The distraction had cost his second life. He tapped the start button, pausing, just as it hadrestarted. He wanted to get a look at the intruders. He could hear them, not so far off, hiding between the shelves. Their feet shuffled quietly against the worn red carpet, but the sound left Matt's ears ringing. In the last three hours he had heard nothing but the ticking of a distant clock and his own breathing. Their hushed conversation was carrying across the room to where he sat. His thumb nudging the start button, Matt reminded himself not to be nosy. It was something that annoying people did, listening in on conversations. In spite of his resolve, he could hear them all too clearly. They sounded quite close, now. He couldn't help wanting the librarian to come find them, even if it meant he would also be removed. Matt did try to ignore them, and made a valiant attempt, but he simply couldn't help himself upon hearing one child mention Nintendo. Still absently pecking at the buttons, listening to snatches of the conversation, Matt decided he needed a new place to ditch classes. The library, comfortable as it was, now seemed too open. He made a face at the plush carpeting, shuffling his sneakers, and concentrated on the whispers. From what he gathered, one of them had acquired an N-64, and they were fussing over what games the child ought to get. Matt could have given them more than a few suggestions, and was thinking of speaking up, when he heard one dismiss an old favorite of his. He glared in the direction of the voices, deciding that they simply had no taste. If they couldn't appreciate good games, then the list he'd had in mind would be wasted on them. Focusing once more, he heard the boy say that he only wanted multi-player games. He wanted to play with someone. Matt froze, his breath catching. As many games as he'd had, he had never played with another person. He had never even owned a multi-player game. After all, who would he play with? Mail Jeevas had never considered himself a lonely child. Certainly, his family was gone, but so were the families of every other child he knew. Honestly, he hadn't known many other children before coming to Wammy. Although, come to think of it, he didn't know the kids here very well either. He slid down the painted plaster to the floor below. Matt realized he could not name even ten of the other residents here, and he wondered if any of them knew him as anything more than Near's second. Pulling his knees to his chest, Matt saw for the first time how alone he was. He was quite young when he lost his family, and he had never truly developed social skills. He pondered being an adult, in the 'real world', as grown ups had called it. His eyes were slowly filling with tears. He had no friends, no family, nothing. He let his precious game fall beside him, laying his head upon his knees. Crying quietly as his character fell to the boss, Matt wondered if he was doomed to be alone forever. He thought back to his first days here, and how scary everything had been. It was the one time he had truly felt alone. So he made a decision. The next person to walk through the front door holding Roger's hand would be his new friend. He rather hoped it would be a boy, and that they would like video games. A two player showdown sounded fun, really. He briefly thought of the fact that they may not want to be his friend. He scrunched up his teary face, brushing aside such ideas. He would be such a wonderful friend that the kid couldn't help but want him around. He would do anything he could for them, no matter what. Absolutely anything for his new best friend. Matt gathered his handheld, slipping past the children. He would talk to Roger, and find out when the man planned on fetching this new friend. He simply couldn't wait for Roger to find them.
I went and got the newer application, but I still think it looks a little
sloppy. That, and I'm going to have to work more on his personality and apperance. Details, details. So, feedback, anyone? >.<
