Residents of the city of Hollow Bastion awoke on a fine day--one like any other in spring--on April 20th. The port city was bustling with its regular activity, minus for one person. After this man’s death, whispers began to spread throughout the hospital he expired in. Nothing that the doctors saw before this were even like this. Stranger yet, the man’s body was no where to be found.
The morning of April 22nd started with a quaint news report at 6 A.M. The body of Rodger White, 48, a government worker, had gone missing. By the 11 P.M. news, Rodger White’s body had yet to be recovered. However, aside from a gas station robbery, a murder in Radiant Park, and the opening of a new library, nothing was of importance to the community. Unreported by the news was the illness of several of White’s family members and several hospital staff.
April 24th had hit, and White’s two daughters, wife, and brother had all died, along with two nurses from the University of Hollow Bastion Medical Center. Upon checking the morgue for their bodies, they were missing, and the area was in complete disarray. A news report on April 25th reflected these findings: seven bodies were missing from the Hollow Bastion Metropolitan Morgue, suspected to be a prank. Other mentions in the news several random attacks on the streets of the city, all seemingly unrelated minus all injuries were inflicted by bite wounds.
Over the course of April 26th to May 2nd, the numbers of attacks on random strangers seemed to rise, and soon, a correlation between attacks on random victims and their death two days later followed by their bodies disappearing from the morgue within twelve hours was made. Multiple television stations placed emphasis on nighttime safety and protecting one’s self.
The morning of May 7th was greeted with an increased number of police officers on the streets. The words of law enforcement and elected officials of had leaked to immediate family: there was something more going onto this. Without much discretion, Ansem Matlin, age 55 and mayor of Hollow Bastion, left for a business trip with his family to Washington D.C., followed by the family of his top advisors within the next week. Reports of attacks, deaths, and body thefts were on the rise, greater than before. Many residents could hear groans from the streets, particularly at night when there was nothing but silence.
At 5:30 A.M. on May 15th, blockades and army barricades had been constructed, restricting all traffic to and from the city. Problems had been, by that time, too obvious to ignore.
Hollow Bastion has been overrun with the living dead, and the citizens, until further notice, have been left to survive on their own.

Welcome to Theory of Evolution, a Kingdom Hearts AU post-apocalyptic survival role play. The city of Hollow Bastion has been abandoned by its government, leaving anarchy and chaos in its wake, as the population slowly dwindles against a growing hoard of the Undead. The few remaining alive, if they have the will to live, are either attempting to wait the horror out, or escape past the military barricade, and find salvation beyond the city's borders.
But questions remain: Just how far has this disease spread? And will a cure ever be found in time to save the human race?
