Throughout the history of mankind the breaking of bread has been an occasion of great importance. From the first Thanksgiving Dinner with the Native American's, to the Last Supper of Jesus Christ. This particular mean was very diffrent. Mathew was sitting at a table alone in the otherwise crowded cafeteria doing his best to ignore the dull roar of the student body that chose to eat on campus. Several Text books were scattered on the table in front of him with an untouched sandwich sitting beside him.
It was almost time for the last exams of the year and he was trying to cram it all in before he had to take his tests. It wasn't that he thought he would do poorly, it was that he wanted to do exceptionally. And with just a bit longer in the semester he figured it was time to just try and cram it all in so that he could relax when it was all over, and with top marks his parents would be happy and get off of his case.
He would look up from the book with a sigh as he pinched the bridge of his nose shutting his eyes as he tried to get the image of the text book out of his mind for a moment. He needed a study break and bad, between all of the cramming and his own personal... distractions. He couldn't think of a day this week that he had a decent night sleep.
With the idea firmly in his mind that he needed a break to collect his now scattered brain cells he would shut the text book and turn his attention to his now cold lunch, his mind already wandering away from his studies to the next night he would sneak out and find a stray cat...

A good bit of students were cramming for the up-coming exam, but the young black haired girl was not amoung them. She laughed loudly with her friends, the deafening sound of the student's seemign to die down at her hysterical laughter alone, her friends chuckles and giggles no where close to matching it's sound and it's deafening volume. She fell off her seat, holding her stomach as she laughed, this making her and her friends laugh harder. What a group. Chi eventually lifted her hand up and grabbed the edge of the table, pulling herself up, nearly everyone on the caffeteria staring on at their little group. "What?" she snapped, her voice, expression and over all appearence darker and serious, the other student's seemign to shrin away and the remaining sound stopped. "Yeah you better recognise, beat all your asses," Chi mumbled, though it beign loud enough for msot to hear. The young woman's voice was naturally loud and over powering, even when she tried to quiet it, it would easily cover up any voice and a variety of sounds. Her friends looked at her and watched her as she sat doewn before they all broke out into laughter once more.

Mathew was not among the group of students that were begining to dominate the loudness of the cafeteria for themselves. He found it hard to believe that most of the noise seemed to be coming from one area of the room when there was this many people crammed together, but there it was. A small group of people being VERY loud despite the multitude of people trying to study for exams. He was a little surprised that there were people like that in this university, it took a lot of effort to get accepted to this university and he had assumed that everyone would have a degree of respect for that. But once again Humankind has surprised him.
He would let out a small sigh thankful that he was done with studying for the time being at least or he would be very upset, after all some student's had scholarships on the line with these exams. And others like himself just had overbearing parents. A part of his consciousness seemed to tug at him though, it was that small feeling, almost a tickle in the back of his head that made him look up to see who it was that was being so loud. His eyes would scan the girl as his lips pursed slightly as he felt that familiar urge build up inside of him. Urges that he normally suppressed at night with the help of a cat or some other creature.
He stopped himself from clenching his hand in to a fist and instead started to pack up his books, only this time he was no longer day dreaming and was listening to what was going on. Not that it was hard to do that with how loud they were being. Who knows, maybe he will find an opening to teach her to be respectful to those that need to study.

At this point, Chi and a few of her friends had risen from their chairs and climbed ontop of them. They chanted back and forth to eachother, the other students now takign abck over the soudns to be heard in an over all sence of the large room. "Sumimasen! Sumimasen! Raito-kun wo sagashite imasu*!" she said, her friends burting otu laughing as she held her hands to her sides like she were lifting a skirt, and curtying on the chair toward her friends. She laughed, nearly falling over, another of her friends takign the spotlight. "Ikanakutewa narimasen**!" she cried out in a rather dramic way, "My prince is calling for me!" she cried, before jumping onto one of the guys sitting nearby, him beign one of their little group. "Oh Raito-chan!" she cried, "Daisuki desu***!" After landing on him and crying out her 'love', she pulled his face to hers, their lips meeting, the whole group fallign to a sudden awkward silence. Chi watched on for a few moment's before busting otu laughing, the rest of the group, aside frmt he two, soon following. She personally had a huge crush on the student that was the closest thign to perfect, but she had a habit of maign fun of those that are socially above her. Dispite her and most of her friend's popularity, the table they sat at, and had always sat at, was often refered to as "the reject table". Though basically every other girl int he school had a crush on Raito, she never liked anyone except for her closest friends to know who she liked, and they hadn't even yet learned of the crush, her making fun of him helping to cover her feelings up.
<<*Excuse me! Excuse me! I'm lookign for Raito-kun!>> <<**I have to go!>> <<***I love you!>>

Mathew had to admit that he was a bit confused about what was going on. All of a sudden one of the girls got on to the table and acted like she was going to flash the school her bottoms before declaring her love for one of the more popular and talented kids in the school. One of the kids that was pushing Mathew further away from top in his class. He didn't know the man personally having never spoken to him. But he had seen him around and knew him by name and sight. But then again with how many girls loved the guy it was hard NOT to know him.
Mathew would sigh and tap his fingers on the table ignoring his still untouched food as he watched the spectacle unfold his eyes widening slightly as she kissed a guy that was completely different then the guy she had declared her love for.
Mathew was honestly at a loss for words or action. He wasn't sure if he wanted to say or do anything or not. He felt strange just staring though, so he did the only thing he could think of. He would leave.
Standing up and picking up his bag before slinging it over his left shoulder he would pick up his untouched lunch before making his way out of the Cafeteria which happened to take him by the table that was causing a scene. Dumping his trash in the can that was next to the table he would shake his head and mutter, "shameful" loud enough for them to here. He didn't really care what they did or said or if they did or said anything. IT was a shameful and embarrassing display to declare your love publicly and then in the same breath to kiss someone else.
He would push the bangs out of his eyes with his right hand letting out a small snort as his final retort before he left them on his way out of the room. What was to happen next if anything was all up to them.

Chi, being the first to hear and acknowledge the muttered word, soon fell silent, her hazel eyes swiftly searching for the person who had said it, them quickly landing on the brown haired young mad. What the hell is his problem? she though, her eyes harsh as she glared at the stranger. "What's wrong?" the friend that had been the one to kiss the guy asked, still sittign in his lap, not that he minded in the slightest bit though.
Another friend who had heard him soon spread the word around the table, irritated sounds and ammused chuckles and a few other mixed responces arising from her friends, though none moved to even say something to the guy. "Chi," one of her friends said, seeing their friend still glaring one of the "If looks could kill" glares, "Let it go... He ain't worth it..."
They all knew damn well what lie on their friends mind. Chi, being one who stood up for her friends more than for herself, would get into a fight over the tinyest things, this being amound them.
But in her mind, this was definatly worth it.
Her right eye twitched slightly as her best friend took ahold of her arm, "Chi, cool it, it isn't worth getting pissed about." "The hell it is," Chi said, pushing herself up, a few of her friends standign up ready to stop her, but the sight of the flickering anger and determination in her eyes sent them right back down to their seats.
She started toward the insulting stranger, pushing her way through the door, her knuckles cracking and popping as she walked, her flexing her fingers one last time before she shoved the guys shoulder. "You got a problem with us?" she snapped before the guy could even turn around. "If so, don't be a little b*tch and walk off. Tell it to our damn faces."

Mathew heard the girl approaching behind him, though he didn't know which one it was. He just knew it was one of them judging by the sound of them approaching, cracking knuckles, a door slamming open. Now Mathew was no black belt but he had been in a few fights before, and since he was a kid that used to get picked on for being a "teacher's pet" he learned his way around a fight. He didn't know which one it was guy or girl and he wasn't going to look. Instead when the footsteps got close to him he would stop and push himself backwards. The aim was for his body to collide with the body of the person behind him.
Mostly he just wanted to knock the person down so he could turn around and see who it was without risking a fist to the face. If possible he would resolve this without violence... if not... well there were no cats around and he was feeling a bit of a buildup forming. He could sure use the release, that was for sure.
Should his attack miss however and she still shoved him he would stumble forward being caught off balance by his own attempt. He would likely stumble several steps before catching himself. If his move succeeded then he would look down at the fallen girl and cross his arms over his chest with a frown.
"You know I believe I did say it to your face. I just didn't shout it is all." He would say raising an eyebrow at her daring her to say otherwise.

Chi's eyes ran up and down his body for any signs that he knew she was behind him, her barely able to move back as he jumped toward her, more than likely in attept to knock her down. "B.astard," she hissed, her hands shoving his shoulder, shoving him foreward.
"And no, you just muttered a little vomment and ran off like a little b.itch is what you did," she said, her hand that had shoved him quickly falling to her side before restign on her hip. She has smirked as she saw him stumble foreward, gratefull to have caught him off guard, knowing that he could have easily braced himself and not even moved if he hadn't been so determined to knock her down.
Chi took a few strides forward and grabbed the guy's shirt, "Now you listen to me," she growled, her hazel eyes appearing darker, whether it be shadows cast by somethign such as her hair or his, in her opinion big, head, or some strange happening inside her. "You can insilt me, bash me around as you please, but you say oen fucking thing to or about my friends that isn't a compliment and I'll shove your f.ucking head through the god d.amn wall!"

Mathew didn't let the fact that he stumbled get to him, that was really unimportant. Almost as unimportant as he swear filled rant. Fact of the matter was he could and would say what he wanted when he wanted and to who he wanted. If they didn't want people to think badly of them then they would have to grow up and start acting like adults. You can't act childishly in college and expect everyone to think the world of you. Things didn't work that way.
He was willing to let her scream and walk away but then she didn't back off. Instead she came closer to him and grabbed his shirt trying to be menacing, even though Mathew as a big guy and clearly not afraid of her.
Mathew's course of action would be simple. He would grab the girl's arm and assuming she didn't some how avoid him at this range he would pull it back off of him twisting it back around her in an submission hold.
We ought to break her arm and teach her to bite her tongue... No.. thats a bad idea. Not in a public place like this. Lets just restrain her for now. Cause a little pain and hopefully she will back off. If she is smart she will back down anyways.
