It was a beautiful Monday morning, the sun was shining and Mathew like many other students on campus were enjoying the time they had before class. Some students chose to do this by talking to their friends under a tree or on a bench. Others were cramming for a test or finishing up homework. Others still were playing card games or something of that nature.
Mathew was walking alone, his bag slung over his right shoulder. On the outside he looked like what one would expect. Calm, composed, cute, he really had no problem with people, generally he was popular. But, right now he wasn't with any of his friends, he had some stuff to deal with and because of that he chose to walk around campus a bit and deal with it. See, even though it would appear he was alone he wasn't, he never was anymore. Always with him was Endrin, following him, watching him.
Over the last few weeks he had grown accustomed to the "man" following him, even if he wasn't thrilled. It seemed to be more then just stress causing this. That thought brought a pit to his stomach. He didn't like thinking about it, truth of the matter was every couple of weeks he went outside the city and slowly tortured a cat to death. He had these... urges sometimes and it was hard to fight off and that was the only way to keep them under control. Endrin's voice was always there when those urges were strong, but last time something went wrong. It was two weeks ago that he last went out and it was then that someone walked in on him when he was about to do his work, he lashed out in fear and killed her and dumped the body in the ocean so it wouldn't be found, so he wouldn't be found.
The face popped in to his head causing him to close his eyes as he tried to banish her face, a face that would haunt him for life. It was after he killed her that Endrin seemed to really appear. That he was visible to Mathew, and he didn't like that one bit. He would glance to the left side where Endrin was walking beside him casting Mathew a cocky grin and raising up an eyebrow as if asking what he was thinking about, though of course he already knew that. He always knew what Mathew was thinking, sometimes before he knew himself.
