The smile on Amex’s face widened as she heard Kage’s reply. She knew there was something she liked about the girl from the very start and now she felt somehow comfortable to know that she was a fellow artist. The blond nodded happily as if approving everything she said “That sounds great, I’m glad that your an artist too, it makes me feel in place.” She added the last part as somewhat of a joke even if it was true. She let out a small giggle as she finished her comment and looked at Matt once again. He seemed happy to be going out with Kagumi which gave her the impression he was what you might call a ‘ladies man’ and this was confirmed when he answered her question.
He enjoyed things most boys did and aberrantly he was a bit of a trouble maker. Amex wasn’t exactly the quietist child herself and hearing the proud tone in his voice as he announced this didn’t make a bad impression at all. The boy seemed to feel a little uncomfortable being surrounded by artistic people so she decided to cheer him up a bit “That’s nice” she smiled then added “I don’t think you don’t have an artistic bone in you. You did say you liked video games right? Well playing a game can be as challenging as participating in a sports event, for example, and since sports are also considered a type of art, why shouldn’t playing video games be art too?” Smiling once again as she finished that theory, she looked out the window again. The girl thought that anything that a person puts effort in can be considered art even if some people didn’t agree.

Amex had enjoyed the fact that Kage was also an artist, Kage had worked on a lot of things, but never anything she deemed life changig or important. She gave a half smile to her excitement and looked down at her book then up to the two of them, placing the book beside her as she leaned back on the wall, her hair provided more of a pillow for her head so she was comfortable. She laughed a bit at Matts excitement. it just proved what was normally true about kids her age. money was tight, and it made her satisfied to see that there was a guy perfectly okay with the girl paying for his stuff, it just meant less conflict on her part and someone more than just herself to go out.
but he seemed negative about artistry, just that he had none, Kagumi smiled, " oh you go to whammy house dear, there is art all around us, especially the art of troublemaking. it just depends on how creative you are and how effective you are with it." she decided to take a different approach than Amex. " and like she said, gaming takes an art, no way no person could do it the exact same way!"

Matt leaned back into his seat since he figured that this conversation was surely going places. Rather than salvage another dying battery though, he kept his currently ignored Gameboy on, just in case the mood suddenly struck him. As he listened, his smile slightly broadened when he noticed that Amex wasn't taken aback at his less than constructive habits at all. Her tolerance to trouble making hobbies just earned her a few bonus points from him.
Both girls seemed to put interesting efforts in to make him feel like a part of the artistic loop, bringing an amused chuckle out of him. They did however, actually have a point. After all, he definitely wasn't your run of the mill, "tacks on the teacher's chair" kind of guy. Oh no, things tended to get much more elaborate than that with Number Three. That, and it usually does take some artistic skill to be able to beat Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories in a mere twenty four hours.
"Hell, never thought of it that way," he agreed. "Now that I think about it, when it comes to those two things, I'm probably the most creative guy here!" He added a humorous boast just for the heck of it. "Maybe I am some kind of artist after all,"

The young girl’s head went up and down in an agreeing manner as Kagumi backed her up in cheering up Matt. She hadn’t thought of trouble making as an art until now, mainly because it was considered an act of disrespect, but she agreed seeing as she saw nothing wrong with having a little fun from time to time.
”But of course you’re an artist!” she replied to Matt letting out a slight chucle. It was nice that the boy had accepted himself as an artist, looks like the girls’ efforts weren’t wasted. She smiled now knowing that he wouldn’t feel left out around them, even if there were so much other things that don’t concern art they could talk about, but this seemed to be the subject at the time. Wonder what kind of trouble he usually causes. The blond’s lips curved into a childish grin at that thought but she decided not to ask just yet.
She leaned back and placed her sketch book next to her so she could finally put her hands in her pockets, which was an old habit and she often did it when she didn’t have anything to play around with. ”Ah what would I do without my pockets?” the amber-eyed girl said in a joke form hoping to start a new discussion, then the question about trouble making popped back into her head out of the blue “So what king of pranks do you play on people?” She couldn’t help but giggle because having said that, she imagined Matt putting a simple paper bag n the centre of the drawing room and, considering how everyone here was so careful, all the students and staff staring at it thinking it’s a bomb or what not.

Kagumi smiled when she realized it cheered him up to listen to the two girls make him feel better. You had to figure that when you lived in a place like this, everyone was to get creative in their own special way and place. their creative streak just happened to be plotting and troublemaking and reading and all around thinking in genral. it was good to know that he had some sort of meaning.
she felt her book under her for the first time and was tempted to crack it open again, but she was in the middle of a conversation, it would be rude to do such a thing. she had to wonder if they wanted one day to stir up trouble, just for the hell of it, but she didnt know what she could do at the moment since she had so much she did allready. her lips curled into a smile, the girl had a quirk of her own, nothing to play with while she talked. Kagumi thought it was absolute torture not to have something in her hands to play with,
" probably be tortured," she said. she looked over to Matt.

Matt's smile remained for a little while longer when he noticed Amex and Kage take a bit of pleasure in seeing him no longer left out. Art really wasn't a subject he cared too much to dabble in, making his own definition of art non-existent. However, whenever he found himself in the presence of some kind of artist, whether it be Linda or some random person he never took the time to remember, they always seemed to take almost an annoying level of pride in their work, no matter how much time they blew on it. In a way, he did tend to feel that way whenever he got away with something huge or beat the crap out of a boss in record time. Maybe art was just anything to devote time and effort to and take great pride in it. Matt quickly wrapped those thoughts up. He never dwelled on it before, now wasn't the time to start.
The grin growing on Amex's face foreshadowed to a little idea begging to come out. As ready as Matt was for anything now, she seemed to push it back for as long as she could. And then it came out. He figured this was going to come up. Of course, most of the kids in Wammy's knew at least three occasions where Matt had disrupted the normally repetitive day on his own, and at least three more where Mello had been drug into it too. Victims varied, as did the success, but it was one way to kill time, as counter-productive as it was. Now there were too many Mail Jeevas took personal pride in to mention, so he just decided to offer something vague, yet hinted at something quite impressive. Who knows, maybe Kage would be familiar with what he was hinting at.
"Let's just say," he began casually. "That's there's a reason none of the guys use the upstairs bathroom anymore," Well, actually, there were two reasons, but that'd take away from the effect if he mentioned that. Now that he thought about it, he had a feeling that Kage wouldn't know what he was talking about. (Since the rather explosive incident happened in the downstairs bathroom.) Matt's fun with these things ranged from extremely noticeable, to extremely, yet effectively subtle. (Kind of like the scenario Amex had come up with in her head.) The one he was bringing up was the later.

As she waited for their replies, she found a little piece of paper in her pocket to fiddle with. It was probably from her sketch book but she wasn’t certain so she pulled it out and examined it for a bit. She figured out it was an old recite that didn’t even belong to her yet she was distracted by it, a typical example of how curious she actually was. The girl flipped it over several times not lifting her gaze until she heard Kage answering her first question. It wasn’t meant to be answered, but she found her response rather amusing and learned that they both had something in common – not having something to play with while in a conversation was torture. “Yeah probably.” She said with a smile.
Then her eyes moved to Matt as he replied to the query she had put on hold for some time. It seemed he liked pulling stunts much like the one she had imagined and they probably lightened up the atmosphere in the orphanage even for their victims. Laughter pushed to come out as she heard his reply. Amex wished she had been there then and seen the potential damage but unfortunately that was impossible.
Yet, as said before, she was very curious and she would probably spend all day guessing what Matt had done back then if she hadn’t asked through laughter “What did you do?”. She flipped the paper once more and looked at him with flashing eyes. She even considered pulling the same stunt in one of the girls’ bathrooms when she got back home.

The way this conversation was going was exactly as Matt liked it. A fun subject that managed to stroke his ego, what more could you ask for? A big smile was slapped onto his face as the mere memory of it all, but it quickly morphed into a proud grin as Amex burst out laughing at his response. Oh, but she would be laughing harder if she heard the entire story. The only people that didn't find it hilarious were Mello (Who unfortunately was caught in an unlucky backfire of the plan.) and its several unlucky victims. The mastermind gave a prideful chuckle at her response coupled with his own thoughts.
"You don't need to ask me!" he said, grin still plastered on and his eyes lighting right up. For once, his gaze didn't drift back to the game in his lap. It locked right onto Amex with more than an ounce of amusement. "I guarantee you that if you were to ask any of the guys around here about it, they could tell the story better than I could!" In fact, he was tempted to do so himself, had it not been for his dislike of a potential kick in the groin. Matt could only imagine that it would be funny as hell to hear the tale from the other side of the fence.
"Besides," he continued. "I wouldn't exactly tell you how I pulled it off anyway. I'm like a magician. I never reveal my secrets," Okay, now he was just getting full of himself. But still, he did fancy the idea of trademarking his stunts. He'd hate it if one of his precious ideas turned into the next Loosening-the-lid-on-the-salt-shaker. He made a clear effort to avoid the cliches. It was always so much cooler when kept original.

Her eyes flashed while awaiting his answer. The subject she had brought up seemed to amuse the boy, who was apparently very proud of his stunt. Somehow, Amex always found a suitable topic, one that could be interesting not only for her but also the group of people she was associating with.
A small frown appeared on her face when he refused to tell the story but it curved back into a smile as he said that the other boys residing in the house could tell it better than him. It was probably true, the victims of set project would be more than happy to complain, and that would make the actual tale more interesting, not to mention hilarious. Laughter pushed to come out of her once more as she imagined someone relating the story of how it happened while making angry hand signs.
Matt didn’t want to revel his tricks, which would have made most people (or rather most pranksters) ask desperately through tears even, ones caused by laughing too hard that is. But Amex wasn’t that interested in how he actually did it, she was more curious to know what he actually did. “Guess I’ll have to ask one of the other boys then.” She replied with a chuckle knowing that once she heard it from one of the victims she would immedeately tell him how they feel about it. When she thought about it he wanted to keep his tricks a secret, to keep them originally his, much like artists want to keep their ideas and would get upset if the idea behind a painting, sculpture, song, book or even comic was stolen. “You really ARE an artist.” She told him nodding happily.

(OOC: Wow, I feel lazy. This post is probably going to suck after being gone for so long. Sorry about that.)
The prideful grin never showed any signs of fading away while Matt watched Amex's reactions. Even the way he sat showed just how full of himself he got over his beloved little tricks. It's been a while since he had the chance to brag to a girl, and he was relishing the opportunity. Even if it did only last for a little while, he was prepared to milk it for all it's worth.
Matt's smile only grew at her first comment and his green eyes became somewhat eager. (Although it was probably hard to notice behind the goggles.) A piece of him ached to know what kind of colorful story-telling would result from the girl's probing. He mentally promised himself to milk Amex for the details later. That was one way to go about finding out without likely injury. Who knows, maybe she'd get really creative with her choice and ask Roger. The hell raiser had a feeling that he'd be quite the guy to relate the origin tale of his most recent ulcer.
Then the second comment came along and Mail gave an agreeing shrug. "Not bad for the guy who figured it out just a minute ago," That was another aspect he didn't take into consideration, but he didn't dig too deeply this time. "And what about your creativity? Did you ever give them something to talk about?"
(OOC: Told you so. It was short too. Blah. XP)

(OCC: Don’t worry about it, your post are always a pleasure to read. ^o^)
She was happy to see him enjoy the opportunity to brag about his tricks. Thinking about it he probably didn’t get a chance to do that very often, considering most of the residents at Whammy’s were victims of his stunts and, most likely, didn’t even want to get reminded of his more successful pranks. This was probably the reason he didn’t think of his stunts as art until now and he was apparently as happy as the day’s long to see someone who thinks of them as something more.
At first, when he asked about her own work, she didn’t know whether to talk about the universally accepted art forms she was interested in or ‘the art of trouble making’, as Kage had put it earlier. In the end she ended up talking about both. “If you mean the things I mostly do like drawing and singing then not really…I’m not really the kind of person to show off and I haven’t had much time to actually finish a project…” she let out a small sigh at the end of that comment and looked at her feet for a bit, her cheeks burning and bright red again. How embarrassing…I’m the one who’s always preoccupied with something but when I think about it, I haven’t really made anything I’m proud of. Then she remembered something that made her eyes light up again and the shades of red and pink disappeared from her cheeks. She lifted her gaze again and smiled. “ There is one thing I’m really proud of.” She paused and looked at Matt then Kage then back to make sure they were going to listen. “I was 6 when I first sang on stage… well not a big one and I haven’t done it since, I just get so nervous when people are watching me.” She hid her face, which was turning a bright shade of pink, with her hands, but only for a second and she was still grinning. “ My mom made me do it, she thought it would boost up my confidence, and it did … a little.” She decided to leave it at that, it was the night after that little show when her mother got sick and, a year later, died. The girl didn’t want to tell them that… well not yet anyway.
Her eyes flashed again when it was time to talk about mischief making once again and she looked back into the boy’s green eyes. “ As for trouble making “ the blond stopped for a bit and chuckled slightly, “I guess it has been a while since my last big stunt, but at least it was fun.” She chuckled again and remembered how all her pre-school and grade school teachers were pulling their hair off when they saw she was looking out the window with her bright amber eyes flashing just like they had now. Yes, she had her times. Unfortunately, it was time to grow up when her mom got sick and they moved to New York in that nasty, rainy summer of 1997, she didn’t have much time to do the things she liked after that, still, learning to survive in that jungle they called ‘The Big Apple’ did teach her a thing or two about responsibility, and that, she thought, was probably for the best.
