Maybe this will pick up activity on here *crosses fingers* Consider it my version of bailng out Wall Street, except this site is considerably more epic and admittedly less influential. (read: Posts are like currency, make like a Keynesian and spend!)
Anyways, I'm going to post some quotes I've saved in the last while. I find them interesting, perhaps you will as well. I'd invite you to post your favourites, or even just to comment on one of the quotes. Maybe they'll inspire something?
Without further ado, Ryuk the rambler(it shouldn't be a surprise, I'm bored)presents quotes:
"Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted."
-Martin Luther King Jr.
"A thinker sees his own actions as experiments and questions--as attempts to find out something. Success and failure are for him answers above all."
-Friedrich Nietzsche
"The art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease."
-Voltaire
"One of the first duties of the physician is to educate the masses not to take medicine."
-Sir William Osler
"The point of philosophy is to start with something so simple as not to seem worth stating, and to end with something so paradoxical that no one will believe it."
-Bertrand Russell
"If the facts don't fit the theory, change the facts."
-Albert Einstein
"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war."
-Albert Einstein
"Bodily exercise, when compulsory, does no harm to the body; but knowledge which is acquired under compulsion obtains no hold on the mind."
-Plato
"Mine honour is my life; both grow in one; take honour from me and my life is done."
-William Shakespeare
"The true teacher defends his pupils against his own personal influence."
-Amos Bronson Alcott
"If you want to build a ship, don't herd people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea."
-Antoine de Saint-Exupery
"A dead thing can go with the stream, but only a living thing can go against it."
-G.K. Chesterton
"The object of opening the mind, as of opening the mouth, is to shut it again on something solid."
-G.K. Chesterton

Hey, hey, I've got some quotes that I thought of myself! So technically I'm not quoting them, but you better if you use them! And now, without further ado, I present my brain junk!
"When life hands you lemons, ask for a bottle of tequila and a swizzle stick."
"Life is like a boat; it could be a port-a-raft or a cruise ship, it's still a boat, so deal!"
"If love is blind, can blind people see it?"
"I wish, I wish, I were a fish"
"Fancy gettin' killed by a teddy bear"
"Shoosh, I'm reading"
"Does milk from holy cows make swiss cheese?"
"Why can't I cry over my spillt milk!??"
... More will come later, I need to empty more brain junk and put it together.

If we're doing ones that we made on our own, I have one to add ^^ I thought of this one during math this morning when my teacher ignored rational thought.
"Logic is intrinsic to math, it is not however, inherent in those who practice it."

allright, quoting one of my friends from class today: "It's so nasty, but I can't stop looking at it!"
now some more brain junk from myself:
"I have to choose one?"
"I'm a triangle!"
"Mmh, good fer' you."
"Sorry, I'm a little crazy at the moment."
"Yeah, then the crows ate the zombie flesh and were all like, keyeeeaaahhrrrrrrr!!!!!, and everyone hiding in the bus was like, ........, and then a kid squealed, and the crows were like,AAAAAAARRRRHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!! and they got in the bus and everyone was like, NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!! Yeah, it's fun doing sound effects."
"Allright, I get it, no one wants to talk to me. Well, I'll just shut up then. Yep, I'll just keep all the stuff in my head and then I'll explode and it'll be all your fault. Yep, you're gonna' be charged with making my head explode. Then you'll wish you'd just dealt with my chattering, because you'll be covered with my brain junk. And then..." yeah, I was gaged at that point.
And that's all my brain junk for the moment. Oh, wait, one more.
"I'm a little hyper right now, please excuse me while I go kill a pumpkin."

One from when I was younger:
"I retain my hyperness."
One from years of hanging out with my friends:
"Release the hounds!"(Many derivatives of this follow, often involving cars and ninjas)
More serious ones will follow later, for the time being I have stir fry and cashews!

Ahhhh, I <3 it!
Here are a few of my faves -
"I suppose I have a really loose interpretation of ''work,'' because I think that just being alive is so much work at something you don't always want to do. The machinery is always going. Even when you sleep."
"The most exciting thing is not doing it. If you fall in love with someone and never do it, it's much more exciting. "
- (was there ever anybody so quotable as) Andy Warhol (?)
"Boredom is... a vital problem for the moralist, since half the sins of mankind are caused by the fear of it. "
- Bertrand Russell
"Thinking begins only when we have come to know that reason, glorified for centuries, is the stiff-necked adversary of thought."
- Martin Heidegger
"A little sincerity is a dangerous thing, and a great deal of it is absolutely fatal."
"One should always play fairly when one has the winning cards."
- Oscar Wilde
So anyway, speaking of posting ... Ryuk, do you want to do something in the crack board with Ryuk and Near? xD

Hmm, a crack board thread could be fun, what did you have in mind?
More quotes!
"They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel."
- Carl W. Buechner
"A sobering thought: what if, at this very moment, I am living up to my full potential?"
-Jane Wagner
"Passive acceptance of the teacher's wisdom is easy to most boys and girls. It involves no effort of independent thought, and seems rational because the teacher knows more than his pupils; it is moreover the way to win the favour of the teacher unless he is a very exceptional man. Yet the habit of passive acceptance is a disastrous one in later life. It causes man to seek and to accept a leader, and to accept as a leader whoever is established in that position."
-Bertrand Russell
"Nature does nothing uselessly."
-Aristotle

“I'm an idiot anyway, but sometimes you feel like an idiot times ten when you're stoned.”

I am a big fan of Spike milligan's infathomable logic ^.^ he induces that spastic laughter that you get when something's immediately funny
A sure cure for seasickness is to sit under a tree. Spike Milligan
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Spike Milligan

Contraceptives should be used on every conceivable occasion. Spike Milligan
For ten years Caesar ruled with an iron hand. Then with a wooden foot, and finally with a piece of string. Spike Milligan
How long was I in the army? Five foot eleven. Spike Milligan
I can speak Esperanto like a native. Spike Milligan
I have the body of an eighteen year old. I keep it in the fridge. Spike Milligan
I shook hands with a friendly Arab. I still have my right arm to prove it. Spike Milligan

and these are ones that are very good kickoffs for DN rp's
This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown.: The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save Us!"...: ...and I'll look down, and whisper, "No".: -Rorscarchs Journal
good shinigami quote A live body and a dead body contain the same number of particles. Structurally, there's no discernible difference. Life and death are unquantifiable abstracts. Why should I be concerned?- DR manhattan
Rorschach: Stood in firelight, sweltering. Bloodstain on chest like map of violent new continent. Felt cleansed. Felt dark planet turn under my feet and knew what cats know that makes them scream like babies in night. Looked at sky through smoke heavy with human fat and God was not there. The cold, suffocating dark goes on forever and we are alone. Live our lives, lacking anything better to do. Devise reason later. Born from oblivion; bear children, hell-bound as ourselves, go into oblivion. There is nothing else. Existence is random. Has no pattern save what we imagine after staring at it for too long. No meaning save what we choose to impose. This rudderless world is not shaped by vague metaphysical forces. It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. Itâs us. Only us. Streets stank of fire. The void breathed hard on my heart, turning its illusions to ice, shattering them. Was reborn then, free to scrawl own design on this morally blank world.
