` leaving here tonight
One school. Three suspects. And more then three hundred lives lost after a school bombing that will go down in history.
It was a city that the world had come to overlook. But after it became the site of one of the most heart-wrenching bombings in American history, Anchorage, Alaska will forever be a place of bad memories. March 15, 2007 became a day that changed the lives of many people, a day that family and friends might have lost someone near to their heart.
Docksom University of the Arts had become one of the United States’ finest and most respected, after its founding one-hundred and fifty years ago. Producing some of the world’s finest writers, artists, dancers, and actors, the school’s superior reputation was rewritten after three young men planted a homemade bomb in the central courtyard. The explosion’s physical impact left emotion scars running deep through the lives and hearts of everyone involved. But one year later, things are slowly beginning to fall back into an old routine as the doors of Docksom University open once again to welcome a new year of students, new and returning.
Emotions and fear are running high, but Docksom University is determined to bring itself back up to what it used to be. But it’s not only the college students that are on edge. Anyone living in the snowy city of Anchorage has a right to be a little uneasy, even someone who has dared to move to the city to begin a new life.
There are still many unanswered questions surrounding the “accident,” though everyone has come to understand it was nothing even comparable to that. There is still so much that the authorities have not released. But they are not the only ones that know, but it will never be information that anyone would be willing to unleash. At some point though, every secret is discovered by someone, weather they are meant to know or not. And without a doubt, those uncovered secrets will find a way to spread, leak their way out and fester through grapevine. They always do.
What seems to be the mark of a new start for the city of Anchorage could be exactly what the city and its people need… But is it really possible for things to change? Is it possible for people to put something so tragic behind them? You shouldn’t always believe in second chances…
