Okay, before I start, I'm gonna warn you, this is a long one.
Okay, why can't people realize that even the slightest comment can be taken in a bad light? In particular, sexist comments.
So I'm on a Bleach rp site, and I read in the c-box that someone made comments somewhat along the lines of: (by the way, if you watch Avatar: The Last Airbender, this is a slight spoiler for the finale)
That's pretty much what he said. So a couple of members commented on the fact that that was a sexist remark, and the guy had the nerve to deny it! He said that since Azula was a cartoon character, it didn't matter. It wasn't directed towards women in general, just Azula. THEN, he proceeded to say that until he got the point of view of a girl, he would stay adamant.
HELLO! I'm a girl, another female member commented that it was offensive! My MOTHER even read what he said and said it was sexist. MY LITTLE SISTER AGREES WITH ME! Girls on other sites agree! I mean, COME ON! Is that enough female response for you? Apparently, not. He still was convinced that he did nothing wrong.
However, myself and a couple of other members tried to tell him that people could take that type of comment to be a sexist remark based on their opinions. That's what we tried to tell him. That in our opinion, it was sexist. He still wouldn't listen. At that point, we agreed that the c-box wasn't a good place to discuss this, so we decided to take it to pms. So I promptly pm'ed the admin with my complaints on this member.
Guess what? All the admin did was remove the c-box. No mentions of the offending member, no actions taken. The guy is still an active member, and I AM PISSED! As a woman myself, what that guy said was HIGHLY offensive to me, and I can't believe that the admin would take it so lightly.
So, now I'm debating leaving an rp site I was excited to join. If the admin is going to allow such members to remain unpunished, then why should I stay? It isn't a safe environment anymore.
So yeah. Thanks for reading my angry rant.

He's an idiot, don't even bother.
I know who you're talking about, obviously, and as much as I'd like to punish him myself, it's not up to me.
It's not worth your time to be angry. There's going to be a lot of imbeciles, of course. And, like I said, as much as I'd like to do something, the most I could do is start another argument, which would do nothing whatsoever. I'll take it up with the admin, but that's about all I can do...

I hate people like that, I honestly... They just ruin the fun of the sites by coming in and offending others. On my sites, I do not take that kind of shit. The minute someone takes offense, I immediately call for it to stop or the member who started it will be banned. There's a member on my site who uses the 'n' word. He hasn't used it for a while, but I told him to stop. I, myself, am not black and do not take offense, but I know those who would. So when they come and they're offended, I will tell the member to stop it, I will warn him, and if he doesn't stop it, I will ban his ass and he will be crying.

I've spoken to the admin, and we're looking to resolve it. If he does not get a response from the member in question within a few days, I'll be the one contacting him. You know we haven't seen eye to eye on a few occasions, and I'm not exactly afraid to use less than proper etiquette when dealing with this situation. I'm looking for at LEAST a public apology, possibly a temp. ban, if the response isn't what we want.

YAY ED! I agree, someone like that NEEDS to be delt with and the minor punishment was LESS than acceptable, seriously, if someone has the guts to say something like that they should have the guts to apologize when they were in the wrong. It's pathetic really, I mean sure you can say what you want but before you do THINK about how others will react to it and if it's a negative response you see either reword it differently or SHUT YOUR FACE. Honestly I prefer the later but that's me. Anyways, I believe that you have EVERY right to be mad about this crap, it was unnessasary and completely sexist. But you gotta admit I would LOVE to see what this person has to say when he has like....fifty women on his ass. *giggles* Either way his comment is sad and pathetic, if he claims he's done nothing wrong. I agree with Ed, the LEAST I would do would make him do a pubilc apology that is if I didn't embarasse him ot death first *Laughs* but I'm evil and twisted so *shrugs* But with all do respect you don't say things that might offend someone, it's just common sense.

To be honest, I'm afraid to touch this one with a ten foot pole, as being a guy I have no idea how offensive that is, but here is my two cents...
Although I find that comment a bit vulgar and immature, I don't think it really is that offensive, since as the guy said it isn't degraded women as a sex. However, I'm usually not one to be offended by comments about anything...
I'm not trying to defend this guy or anything, and the fact that he didn't apologize still makes him a jackass. But I still wouldn't get worked up over a comment like that, just because some idiot didn't have the foresight to see the consequences of his words...
I go to an all male Catholic school, and you probably wouldn't believe how ridiculously sexist it is there...But it's all in good fun...Kind of...

^^ -Blinks- Yeah i also agree with Daz and everyone else, me being a older brother to my younger sis, that does sound offensive, i don't say anything like that to any of my mates 6 of them beings girls. Even my other guy friends are against that type of talk, except for one of them says it as a joke and everyone mostly laughs at it, but with some of the girls you can see in there eyes they hate it. Just ignor the guy, most of the guys at school -Coughs- Half of the whole shool -coughs- are mainly thingy suckers. They talk crap and they think they are good cos they talk highly, the discriminate and disrecpect everyone they see (Me being one of them) but i don't give a shit, they call me names, me coming from a euro background the call me wog, or jew, or some other bullshit! I nearly got into a fight, they wanted to, but i smiled and i yelled at them to hit me, they gave up and walked off, they still dis me but i ignore it. I might be going off track, but what i am trying to say is to ignore those nobs. Also Admins have bigger resposiblitys, please give me the site, because i really want to talk to this admin, me also being an admin to my own site, people who don't follow my rules really, and i mean really piss me off! I am close to banning one of my mods (Now not a mod for pissing the nuts out of my backside, just to ask for more power so he can change peoples profiles to anoy them!!) Okay this is turning into my rant, but i will not make it... Sorry... But yeah i rp on a bleach site as well but atleast the people on there are nice and warm hearted, okay some are total doosh bags, but besides that i'm just trying to say, if you can't talk to him in a civilized manner there is no point talking to him, take it to the admin do the same if he doesn't take astion tell him to shove his monitor up his anas! -Laughs- that would be funny to watch... And if he doesn't do anything you are right there is know point staying there, so you did the right thing, and good job for that. Thanks for readying this, i have nothing to do, and no one is online, i'm bored... Help me... Satsu

I've discussed it, and he replied to both of our PM's.
As I expected, it was a refusal of an apology. Thus, we both agreed he should get a ban. He'll be temporarily banned, and hopefully realize his error.
