So you, like billions of other people, have come to New York City. Well, there's one thing that's certain; this place is like no other. It just so happens that, unlike the majority of those billions of people, you're going to be let in on just how special NYC really is.
You see, it's this city that truly proves that nothing is ever as it appears. That homeless person you see on the corner might actually possess some sort of ability and is just pulling a front. The clerk who gave you the change you needed after buying that sweater might have an entire hidden world in their hands. You're probably wondering what we mean. And yes, you read that correctly.
We're simply known as the Narrators. While we ourselves don't possess any abilities, we know all about it. We all keep those in the know updated on the latest happenings, the absolute truth. Unlike the news of the "normals", we know exactly how to explain what seems to be unexplainable. Why your neighbor suddenly seems to have gone insane (this is probably as a result of them turning into a Peep, werewolf or some other sort of vampire), why things suddenly explode when you're angry (evolved human or wizard, most likely), why someone just pops up out of nowhere that seems incredibly old fashioned (you can thank our friend Alyssa wanting to be a good Samaritan and give lost souls second chances for that) and dozens of other things that the "normals'" media just fails to accomplish.
Despite us spreading the news, we're required to keep this information for anyone who isn't suited to know. We wish we could say that it always works, but it seems that normals become increasingly more and less inquisitive at the very same time. It's probably only a matter of time before everyone in the world knows about the people here who have the extra that's needed to be extraordinary.
Whether this comes true or not and when it happens is unsure. What's even more uncertain is what will happen if everyone finds out. One thing is for sure though; you'll never see New York the same way again. Thankfully, we'll serve as your guides and hopefully whatever happens, everything will turn out all right for you. At the very least, since as of now every story you've ever heard is 100% true, you're in for an adventure.
