Kagumi had contemplated, wondered about her ordeal not but a day ago, and just as instantly, she pushed it to the back of her mind as simply as the death of her father or her best friend. If she didn't think about it, it wouldn't bother her one bit.
Her gaze landed on a tiny sparrow, hopping along the ground longingly searching for food to eat. It pecked the ground continuously, digging for a worm, but by what Kagumi could feel, the ground was dry, no food would comevfor the poor little sparrow...
The teenage girl crouched on the bench felt the pain suddenly of that littke sparrow, and pulled out her lunchbag,"there has to be something here" to her sucess, she founf a large piece of bread, just enough to feed 100 birds. She broke off a piece for the sparrow and held it out for him. He hopped her way, she set it before him, then he took the bread and flew off quickly. All kagumi could do was break up the bread and throw one to a bird as it hopped happily past her.
She knew at this point, she was tired and alone, but there were desires now she didn't remember having at whammy house, she wanted a friend, she needed someone to talk to, or at the very least ti listen to. She just continued to gently toss crumbs into the groeing flock of birds, her long sundress flkapping in the breeze.

21 was strolling around in the park. He was carrying his backpack full of books, notebooks, and one pen. The first chance 21 saw a bench open he walked rather quickly to it and sat down. 21 looked around making sure no one was watching. Then he quickly picked out a random book, took out one of his bigger notebooks, and his one pen. Then he began reading the book. His eyes scanned the pages as if he was only glancing at them, but really he was reading every single word with care and put it into his thoughts. After about 15 minutes of this, 21 closed the book and put it back in his backpack. Then he put the notebook in his lap and grabbed the pen. It was time for him to begin writing his thoughts on paper once again.
The only sound that came from 21 was his heavy breathing, and the noise the pen was making on the paper. When 21 looked up to have a little break from writing, he saw a girl feeding a bird bread. He tilted his head sideways in confusion, but then looked back down at the paper to return to writing. 21 wasn't sure how much time he had wasted writing, but he was getting bored with writing his thoughts down. He would have to continue the writing later when he was more interested. Writing when you aren't interested, well that's just something 21 never did. He closed his notebook and slipped it in his backpack in one swift movement. Then looked at the pen. 21 looked at the pen for 1 minute only before shoving it in his pocket. Before standing up he gave out a little sigh. 21 was rather bored right now.
With his backpack on once again, 21 wasn't sure where he was going to go next. So many places to go, yet so few of those places are interesting... 21 thought as he gave out a little sigh. He looked around him one more time, taking in the beauty of the nature around him. None of it amazed him though, nothing could do that but the night sky. 21 shook his head rather openly, trying to get all the information he had just wrote down to go away. He took a few steps forward before stopping. He still had no idea where he was going, but as he thought he looked up at the sky. If only it was night, then I could once again see the stars shine bright... 21 thought as a small smirk slid across his face, his gaze still up at the blue sky.

By the time everyone hsd gotten their share, Kagumi was left with a quarter of a piece of bread. It didn't annoy her that she was left hungry, she was used to minimal rations, seeing as when she was deep in thouhght at whammy house she hardly ate.
With those thoughts clouding het mind she listened closely to the music in her headphones as shye rummaged through the bag, there were cherries, this made her alight with glee. She pulled out a cherry and plopped it in her mouth, tugging the stem off with effortless grace.
Even though she had the music up loudly in her headphones, she could hear somebody nearby. Under the shadow of the large sunhat, her amber eyes gave a dull flash to set on someone nearby. She thought shr might have recognized him from whqammy house, but she didn't leave her room that often except to talk to roger, so she wadnt sure. He looked lost to her.
"Its good to know where you're going, otherwisebyou won't getv there." She said casually under the shsadow of the sunhat " so you might as well stay until you know."

21 moved his head quickly. His gaze was no longer on the sky, it was on the same girl he had looked at earlier. He absolutely hated it when people interrupted his thoughts, and this girl was no exception. His yellow eyes glared at her for a moment but then he looked up at the sky again. 21 found no need in wasting his energy. He looked at the clouds as they passed by. The wind blew them ever so slowly. Sometimes 21 wished he was a cloud. Then he wouldn't have to worry about anyone, or anything bothering him. He remembered that the girl had talk to him. He wasn't sure if he really wanted to talk right now, but he didn't want to seem rude by not saying anything.
"That is true. Have you ever thought about how there are so many places to go, yet so few are interesting?" 21 asked right away.
He looked at the girl again, this time observing her every movement. She seemed rather normal, but then again looks are deceiving. 21 knew that personally. His head was in a rather odd angle, but it was comfortable to him. He did things that other people would call strange, but that didn't bother him. Though it did bother him that he couldn't see her face though. Why would someone bother wearing a hat? That was something he never understood. It blocked most of the views 21 looked at. When ever he had a hat on, it made him feel like he was being held down, or challenged. He almost hated the feeling of being held down more then he hated people, though he did like being challenged. He shook his head a little to stop thinking for a moment, he wanted to listen to this girls answer to his question.

The look he had vgiven her was accompanied with a girlish giggle. Seeing a girl crouched on a bench eating cherries and wearing a large sunhat she realized that she must have been an odd sight to behold, but she was from whammy house, she had her reasons.
"You must not be looking hard enough," kagumi replied wording it to the best of her abilities " every time the institution gives us time to leave and roam, I didn't bother. I would sit for hours on end writing until my hands cramped. Now there is no use for it." She pulled out a second cherry and slid it in her mouth once more." As a whammy kid, - yearn for entertainment and exfitement, but when I go outside I just let it find me." She pulled out the stem and broke off another piece of bread, throwing it to the wandering sparrow and watching it fly off.

It was a logical answer, yet 21 didn't want to understand it. Her answer bothered him for some strange reason. Why was this girl talking about- then he remembered her. This girl was in the Wammy House. He didn't ever really try to remember peoples faces, but this time he surprised himself. He actually remembered her. He bent his knees a little so he could see under her hat. He remembered her, yet her name was escaping him like rain in a desert. He still hadn't taken his glance off the girl. He watched as the girl gave some more bread to a passing sparrow. What a strange girl, yet not so strange. 21 thought as he tilted his head up at the sky in one motion.
"So you rarely go outside? What a shame. Any place is so beautiful if the stars are shining down on it. Even the most ugly bird will turn beautiful at night." 21 said rather softly while looking at the girl again. Once again a little smirk ran across his face. He rarely ever smiled, but when he tried to look happy he would smirk. Though he made him look like he was off thinking somewhere else completely. Which was true most of the time. He gave out a little sigh. 21 wasn't really sure himself why he was even talking to this girl. He could easily walk away and leave, but what would be the fun in that?

Kagumi's amber eyes flashed at the sight of the boy drawing near, trying to see her real face from under the hat, she would do it in time, but while he was trying to examine her she merely met him with bright amber eyes. She didn't know what to say, but when she did she merely looked away frim him and broke out another piece of bread and tossed it gingerly into a bush, " everything is grey at night, but when you feel it, blood is still blood." She gave a dismal sigh. Her voice wasn't bitter, it was more or less pensive. " When you have no one to care for anymore you really don't find use for the outside anymore."
With this sullen reply, kagumi took off her sunhat, revealing her tan face with shadowed eyes and wavy black hair. " If you wanted to see, you just had to ask, but I am not really a sight to behold."

The smirk slipped right off his face, into what almost seemed like a frown. His backpack was getting rather heavy so he sat down, and took it off. He looked at the girl not with his observant eyes, but with a soft, gentle look. "I've never found a use for the outside world myself. It's only been a place that I can go for some quite, at least for a minute or two." He couldn't stop himself from looking into her amber eyes. He had never seen anything like them before. Then he realized how stupid he must look just sitting there and staring at her, so he looked down at his hands. 21 wasn't very good with people, so he felt rather odd in this situation.
"Anything is a sight to behold if you believe it to be. Everything I look at is not an object, a person, or a thing, but rather a beauty hidden within." Though right when he said that he thought of something. He wasn't a sight to behold, not even a beauty hidden within. His light brown hair was in a state of mess, since he practically never combed it, and his eyes had dark lines under them from not sleeping much, making his yellow eyes stick out even more. But in spite of all this, 21 actually smiled, which threw him off. The last time he smiled, if he remembered correctly, was more then a year ago. Why would this girl make him smile? That was the question he couldn't figure out.

Kagumi had a hard time with the sunhat off, for one odd reason or another, it madevher feel bare, or maybe naked."I've just felt useless that's all, I was not in the mood for the outside at all." She couldn't shake his gaze, his yello eyes fascinatedvher.
Kagumi pulled out a cherry and plopped it into her mouth ad she listened to him, not smiling or frowning, just resting. "Do you see beauty in others becauser you can't see it in yourself? I used to feel like that." She smiled warmly and held onto the sunhat," I wouldn't ujderstand why, you have a pretty smile."

When she started talking again he looked at her. She had his attention, for the most part anyway. Nothing ever got his full attention, not even they books he read. "So you feel useless, eh? Well everyone has there purpose in this world, some people just don't find it right away. That goes for me, I still don't know what I'm good for..." His yellow eyes looked rather sad when he said that, which also made him confused. He never showed his emotions, so why was he letting them come through now?
His eyes narrowed when he listened to the words she spoke, but then he forced himself to not looked shocked. Her smile was so warm and bright that he was pretty sure his checks went a little red. Maybe having his hair in his wasn't all so bad. "I would beg to differ, my smile is anything but pretty. I've been told so many times it's not even funny anymore. The words ringing in my ears ever so loudly...You on the other hand have a very beautiful smile." The smile on his face was still there, but this time it was more warm and cheerful. The sun made his eyes on the other hand, seem like they were glowing with sorrow as he looked at her.

Kagumi tipped her head to the side and nodded in approval at his words, she seemed at a loss for words and she couldn't understand why. She felt a little sad though when he denied it, and instead complimented her. She flushed just a little, but wasn't concerned with it at all," they were wrong, I know this. But thank you for the compliment though."
She looked up at him then down.to the seat beside her." You're feet must hurt," she added," why don't you sit?"

21 wasn't sure if could believe her when she said that the people wrong, but he was going to have to give it a try. It didn't bother him that people thought he was ugly, but for some reason, if she had called him ugly, he had a feeling it would bother him greatly. What was so special about this girl? "People can always be wrong, yet what they said doesn't bother me. Ugly or not, I am who I am, and I'm not changing." He wasn't smiling anymore, he wasn't frowning though. He was just standing there feeling like he didn't belong in the park, almost like he was lost in a new world.
He looked at the seat beside her with a tilted head, the wind blowing his hair away from his face. His face was rather bony, but at the same time warm. He had a small smile across his face as he closed his eyes. "Thank you." He picked up his bag and went to the bench. After he sat down he didn't know what to say or what to do, so he went to what he did know to do. He pulled out his notebook. He flipped through it until he came to an empty page. "Must seem rather sad right? How many pages I have filled up, and how many notebooks I can no longer use. I write down my thoughts as an attempt to get them out of my head, but it never works..."

Kagumi looked inquisitively down at the notebooks and smiled at the thought of her own journals at home, filled to the margins and stacked high to the ceiling,"I knoe the feeling." She looked down into the book and listned to him closely
" You can't get thoughts out because we can't dtop thinking" Kagumi replied," you think that's it, but in truth we all can't stop thinking about anything, its what we do with those thoughts that shapes who we are."

He was surprised, and yet not surprised at the same time. He had never found anyone that wrote as much as him before, so he felt odd, yet happy at the same time. He wasn't really sure which one he felt more though. "So you like writing too?" He pulled out his pen and began writing something. "I sometimes write poems if I feel like doing so, but most of the time I stick to my thoughts. I write a lot more when I stick to my thoughts." He was still paying attention to her, though he was also somewhere else thinking.
He listened to every word she said with care. After she was done talking he tried to put the words together, so they would make more sense to him. "True. I never thought about it like that, I just found it rather annoying...But are our thoughts what shape us, or is it our actions that shape who we are? Or maybe it's both..." He replied as he finished what he was writing. In the short amount of time he had written on 1 page. He looked at her with curious eyes, waiting to hear the answer to his question.

His intelligence surprised her, but it was whammy house, it wasn't unusual. When he asked her about the things she forgot to ask herself, she suddenly couldn't stop herself, she leaned in closer so thst she was about a foot away from his face,
"Certain thoughts promote certain acvtions. The question is, no matter how your thoughts turn out to be, what decided it is whether you have the courage to act on it."
