Ed walked through the streets of Los Angeles, once more pondering what he saw. There's just something about looking at different people's expressions that I like. Perhaps it's because I get a look at their perspective, or outlook on life. Might give me clarity. Shaking his head, he brushed a bit of hair out of his face. God knows I need clarity...
Sitting himself down on a bench, he laid himself out, slouching in his seat. Sometimes I wonder how we're ever gonna catch this guy. After all, we've never had to deal with anything like this before. And how the hell does he kill, anyways? We know the prerequisites for his murders, but not the weapon, or instrument. Figuring that out would make things so much easier.
Yawning, and stretching his legs, he sighed. "It's not my case, but I feel like I'm obligated to help."
What could I do? I suppose I could always contact L and the KSIU once more, if I make any breakthroughs, or get any information. I do know a few people in the CIA that have an interest in this. Though I doubt I could find out anything L doesn't know...whatever, I'll do what feels right at the time...

When Kagumi was told about the interception, she had come almost instantly to watch the broadcast, looking it over two or three times before making her descision, she had to go to LA and find this guy, maybe he could get her even closer to winning the game before L could, She had a feeling the 4 heirs had to play a role in this case whether they liked it or not, so she might as well begin now with whatever leads she was given.
The flight to LA was paid for without fail, bringing her there at no time at all and drawing her attention. she had taken the information given and was reading them on her way out of the plane. by the time she was walking the streets, everything she needed had been absorbed. and when she caught sight of a trash can up ahead she pulled out the silver Zippo lighter, put it to the tp of the files, and set it aflame in her gloved hand, when it became only ashes, she threw it in the trash can, going unnoticed by everyone. it was as if she wasnt even there.
She wanted to sit on a nearby bench, she was exhausted, but there was someone laying out on it, " Excuse me," she said to him, " I need to sit down."

Ed saw a girl walk to a garbage can, and light a load of files on fire. Odd, why would someone do that? If she was merely a pyro, she wouldn't have bothered to type on the papers, nor get many of them. She would have also lit them in private. No, it seemed as if she wanted to hide something, and she did so surprising speed and efficiency. No one but me had even noticed.
As she walked to the bench, and asked to sit down, he noticed he was in quite an odd position on the bench. How do I even get like this? He questioned himself, in his mind. "Yeah, sure. Go ahead..." He said. "You look awfully tired. Been walking for quite a bit?" He queried, making casual conversation, trying to be polite. The girl had interrupted his thought process, but that didn't give him an excuse to be cold, he supposed...

When he had given her an odd look, Kagumi merely gave him a tip of her head, her long unkempt raven hair clossing to cover one of her bright amber eyes. What did he think of her? did he see her go set fire to the files? to her it just looked like some innocent kid setting fire to stuff, no big deal in america right? but the way he looked at her, he must have been someone like a cop, only they went through that kind of process that led her to this conclusion, but now that just meant she had to keep her guard up a bit, while she was in America she was Lucille Heart, not Kagumi.
"Thank you,' she said before sitting down. she leaned back and sighed, " Yes I have, i walked around town all day and havent sat down once."

Ed nodded. "Yeah, LA is a pretty big city. I've just been walking to clear the head, you know? And I figured the fresh air would do me good." Smirking to himself, he thought of what he usually did at home. Sit in a dark room, and talk to himself. Out in the public, he was quite social, if he needed to be.
He let out a little yawn. "So, what was up with those files. I mean, I've got no problem with you setting fire to your own things, but that was a public garbage can. Also, why go through the time and effort to print out so many papers, only to destroy them? Seems rather suspect to me, though what do I know?"
What did he know? What didn't he know?

" Yeah," she agreed whole heartedly, " But the air is a little better in london, at least the half i come from anyway, I'm a country girl." she admitted this was all true, she had to figure if this boy was social, she had to be too, just to blend in a bit better. Casually she removed the glove from her hand and put it in her bag. She was used to having to burn things with the repeated files they gave her, so she found nothing wrong with just throwing ash into the trash bin, it didnt harm anyone and was in no need of being put out, no one seemed to notice but him.
when he asked her, though she was a little frustrated, she hid it well, she already had an excuse that was not foolproof but the truth, " the 'files' as you call them, were burned in my hand, it was ash that I threw away. And those things were just maps and pictures of places I needed to go," she nodded, " I burned them because I just didnt need them anymore, I know where I need to go."

Ed smirked, and paused for a moment. "Sorry, but that doesn't check out. First of all, if you've never been to LA, you would have kept maps and pictures, as a reference. That is, unless you have a photographic memory, which I highly doubt, considering how intently you looked at those papers before burning them. On top of that, even from here I noticed your pupils moving back and forth. That wasn't an analyzing pattern, that was a reading pattern. Of course, I could easily be mistaken when it comes to that."
He nearly laughed. He had already turned this conversation into an interrogation. Damn this bad habit. "Finally, you say you're from London, and that the air is cleaner and fresher. Yet you contribute to the stink of this air, by creating more smoke for said air. They were obviously files, and probably very important ones, at that. Of course, I'm not going to pry, but don't think me an imbecile..."

/He seemed very confident in his theories he is a cop no less but she kept her cool, all he had to do was give her holes and she would fill them, much better than having to come up with the perfect story to make her sound believable, in fact, it was more human for there to be holes and for there to be explanations, that was how it was. She smiled through the mass of hair and began twirling a peice of it, she needed something to do with her hands. It was true, there were maps and pictures, amazingly, there was only one mission statement find the guy im looking for
" Well then," she said softly, dreamily, " I am one happy little ball of irony arent I?" she giggled, " I am from London, private area, and yes i do have a photographic memory, I didnt even bother to look at the maps until about 30 minutes before the end of my flight, I have to look left and right, kind of like a scanner, then I just burn them and walk away with a fresh idea of everything in my mind, its a bad habit i have but it keeps out the clutter." She smiled a bit, " by no means am i calling you an idiot doing so, i am just....odd thats all."

Ed chuckled. "Well, that's a fantastic skill, photographic memory. Honestly, I'm impressed. Of course, I still find it odd that you'd burn them before tossing them, rather than simply throwing them out, but I guess that's just your way. In fact, it's odd. You're awfully young, and yet your tone and vocabulary are quite high level. Also, the way you carry yourself says a lot about your confidence. So, you've never been in LA, you're young, and yet you do not feel intimidated by the city, nor by the grown man analyzing your moves. Now, that's a tad strange."
He tilted his head, mockingly thinking to himself. "Now, what did you say you came here for?"

he seemed a little impressed with her abilities, but it surprised her more than anything for him to have pointed out a couple of things. Firstly, she didnt think her vocabulary was extensive, when she talked to other people they had a lot better ways of saying things than she did, she had basic vocabulary in her mind. it was quite odd that he thought she carried herself well, though she did, some small things will revert her back to those horrible moments where she was weaker. though he still thought it was odd for her to burn things, she was ordered by zet so much to burn every file that had to do with work she made it a habit, " Lets just say im used to it,"
" and also lets say im here to find someone, just for the sake of it, like a treasure hunt."

Ed raised his eyebrows. "You're used to it? So you're used to burning papers in a public garbage can? You know..." He smirked. "In my line of work, we do something similar. Except we do it a tad more discreetly." He thought back to the various ways he had destroyed evidence. Swallowing papers, rubbing off ink with nail polish remover, he had even had to cut himself once, so his blood would stain the evidence. Rather obvious, yet effective. Of course, there's always going to be a few 'mishaps' in a person's life.
This girl's mannerisms reminded him of some others he had seen. Too early to be sure, but she did say she was from London. "Hey, have you ever heard of the Whammy Orphanage? I mean, of course you probably have, but I don't know much about it. Perhaps you could explain..."

She began thinking of what they could do to hide evidence. there were a lot of horrible processes, but the easiest she found was shredding it then burning the remains, to assure that there is nothing left, absolutely nothing, but in some circumstances she just burned it, leaving a remain or two but not enough to discern anything. Now it left her wondering, there was no picture of the guy she was looking for, but as much as he has figured out, it was now all too obvious, she had to wonder to herself why she didnt figure it out by the mannerisms described in the papers. her lips curled into a smile and she stopped in midtwirl, a lock of hair sticking out through her long fingers. " Just tell me what you do know about whammy house exactly...
Mister Ed."

Ed sighed. "Thought so. I'm the only guy in LA a Whammy Orphan would want to see. What, L send you? I guess it doesn't matter. Well, what do I know about Whammy House? I know I wasn't accepted there. When I had first heard about it, I knew I was special. So, I asked for a message to be sent, requesting my transfer. I was rejected rather quickly. Though, I suppose that just proves the system wrong. Look at me now."
Smiling, he turned his head to her. "So, tell me, what exactly do you want with me? I'm impressed, you know my actual name. I thought I had hidden those files. Your sources must be quite good."

when he admitted it she cheered in her head, only showing on the outside a childish triumphant grin " I figured as much, I really didnt know you had to apply, My dad just died and the next thing i know i was picked up by some guy in a limo and told i was going to stay at the orphanage. I didnt know anything about it until much later. but i guess the more you know. I didnt know you had a choice in the matter, as long as i had somewhere to go at night i didnt care at the time."
" and dont fret, i do have effective sources, I only know the names I feel most important, except for one, thats why I'm here." it didnt take a genius to find out what she was doing, but it urked her to have to say it.

Ed nodded. "I'm not even going to ask how you got ahold of my message, but it doesn't take much to realize you want to know more about Kira." He looked around. "I'm pretty hungry, actually. How about we get something to eat?" He looked around, and, seeing a proper place, nodded. "Shall we discuss it over breakfast?"
He did not wait until she answered, he simply got up and walked into the building. She'd follow him, of course. He's got what she wants. And Ed doesn't bend when it comes to what he wants. Even when it is the most trivial things...
