[Kagumi Michiyo]

She sighed when he said it instead of her, the more they were willing to cooperate, the easier her job was. it warmed her to know it was that easy for her to check this stuff out, when the time came, she would be more than ready for curtain call, the minute he mentioned food her stomach grumbled, appareantly excited at the sound of real food for once, to eat small things didnt really fill her up as well as she thought, two weeks of pick-me-ups asnd she was ready for real food for once. "I'd be more than happy."

he got up before she could react, and she stood to her feet in the akward stance, then pushed her hair behind her back and followed him into the place, she wasnt going to object, he was after all what she was looking for. She had followed close behind, learning quickly from what she knew about following, and her stomach growled with joy.

Pushing the door to the restaurant, if it could be called that, open, he sat at a two person table in the far corner of the room. Waiting for them to be waited on, he stretched back in his chair. "Now, what you've gotta understand is, Kira is in Japan. And I haven't left America in my life. Thus, anything I know is purely theory. Until I can make my way to Japan, which I have not found the opportunity to do yet, I will be out of contact with the case."

Making this clear, he saw that the waitress had come over to them. "Ah, yes. I'd like, erm..." He looked at the menu for a few seconds. "Yes, I'd like 5 muffins, one blueberry, one corn, one chocolate chip, one banana, and one walnut. I'd also like one cinnamon bun, and a single buttermilk pancake, if you'd be so kind. Oh, and could you bring me a gallon of milk. You know, the carton and everything? Yes, I'd be willing to pay for it all..."

As the waitress looked at him as if he were a being from another planet, yet still took his order, she turned to Kagumi to query about her selection...

[Kagumi Michiyo]

Kagumi seemed a little dissaponted to hear this, but she nodded. She didn't come all the way from japan to leave empty handed, especially knowing that when she got back her boss would be quite furious that she did a small thing like this without permission. " I authentically could care less, theory is better than nothing at all." She replied with a smile.

She sat down across from him and looked up with to the waitress, and just to develop her charachter a little bit, she turned back, " bro you are such a pig! He always eats like this at home," she rolled her eyes and looked back at the waitress," don't know about eddie here but all I want is a doughnut and some coffee please, and before he says anything I don't care what mom says I am old enough for coffee." She didn't know if he would play along, but she didn't care, she thought it was a good cover.

[Ed Thompson]

Ed frowned. "Eddie? I think not. Ma'am, my name is E, I'm a Detective for the FBI, here is my ID. And I'd prefer to have you hurry up, and get me my food. Oh, and if you tell anyone of our little chat, I'll have you arrested and charged on obstruction of justice."

As the waitress' eyes widened, and she nearly ran to the back to complete his order, he smirked. "Don't worry, my ID card now only says E, and also, most of the public doesn't know what obstruction actually is. Right now, she's terrified that she'll spend jail time. Plus, it helps when you want speedy orders..."

Chuckling, he put his wallet back in his pocket. "So, do you have questions to ask, or shall I simply spew some information? Frankly, I'm quite tired, and I want to get this over with. But..." He shot a glance at her. "I have one condition for this information."

He sighed. "I want transportation to Japan, so I can further investigate Kira. I have been unable to secure a transport that would be private enough, but with your sources, it should be fine. After all, you Whammy children hold so much sway over the ins and outs of our world. They practically bend over backward for you..."

[Kagumi Michiyo]

She waved at the waitress as she scuttled off and kagumi giggled. When she moved out of sight she still kept the smirk and stuck out her lip, " you aren't very fun dear, I go and bother to change my name for this trip and you won't play the game with me." He got down to business quickly. But she didn't mind.

" It is a deal mister e, but you have to pose as somebody and play the game with me, or else you won't make it to japan alive. Flashing your badge might be quite a mistake. Until then enjoy everyrhing, because all I want is to know how much you have inferred so far from the evidence."

[Ed Thompson]

Ed sighed. "Fine, I'll play your little game." As the platter of food made its way to their table, he rubbed his hands together. "Ah, finally. I'm famished..." As it was set down on the table, he smiled at the waitress. "Thank you, now you just have to remember the last bit I said. We'll be out of your hair in a little bit."

Picking up his corn muffin, he took one bite out of it, and set it down once more, away from him, to the far recesses of the table. He then picked up the banana muffin, and took one bite out of that, setting it aside. Pointing to the discarded muffins, he glanced at her. "You can finish those off if you want, I don't mind."

He then took a swig directly from the milk carton. Picking up the blueberry muffin, and taking a bite out of it, in typical fashion, he questioned her. "So, any idea what kind of information you wanted? And for what reason? Are you working with L?"

She wasn't surprised he wasn't fond of playing with her, not many of the older detectives were, especially with Kagumi's ability to think out an entire story with almost no effort at all, she shooed it off though, because if he didn't follow the game as quickly as she made it, then she couldn't garuntee his absolute safety.

She began sipping her coffee and then suddenly shivered, the lady hadn't added sugar at all, so now she had drunked black coffee, in her opinion, it was completely disgusting. So now she calmly set it down and picked up the silver sugar dispenser. She tipped it then looked at ed as if she wasn't doing anything wrong. She watched him take bites from everything then set it down she was going to wait until he took a bite from the chocolate chip to eat one, either way she continued to pour sugar, "well that's a waste."

"But really I am looking for anything that you know. I already know the basic stuff about it such as the smaller things from the japanese media. But either than that I know little, all I want are inferences theories and anything that could help me to forward the case a little, I just don't plan on going back empty handed that's all."

Ed smiled when he shivered from the coffee. "Not a fan of black coffee, I see. I don't like coffee in general, so I understand the feeling..." Taking another swig from his milk carton, he finally took a bite of the chocolate chip muffin, and set it aside. "Well, the thing you've gotta understand is, Kira and I think alike. I can tell, and I know what I would do if I had those powers. Basically, Kira hates to lose, he is provoked easily, and he believes he is using his powers for good. This is a dangerous combination."

He took a sip from the milk carton, and continued. "This means Kira will fight, tooth and nail, to win. He's not above doing anything to achieve his goals. Therefore, you'll have to be careful if you're going to go after him. Your age, your sex, your gender, whether you're rich or poor, it matters not. He'll kill you, just the same."

His eyes widened as he took the cinnamon bun, and took a large bite, before setting it aside. "Tell me, what do you know of the former Greek city-states, Athens and Sparta?" He smirked at his question, as it sounded completely off topic...

She tipped her head to the side, he didn't like coffee in general? It blew her mind but then again she spent her years living off of coffee and chocolate so she could truly not relate to the hatred to coffee, the sound of the sugar stopping made her groan, "well that sucks." She set the empty cup down and stirred the small mountain of sugar into the coffee then she looked back at ed with a half smile. She swiped the chocolate muffin and the cinnamon bun, nibbling on them as he made his ideals clear.

" I know that, it just makes the game a lot more fun if Kira is just as relentless as we are, I nor L are known to be quitters."

" That is why I play the game with these rules, don't tell the same name to the same person, it is best to make up things as you go. And the techniques I used on you work too...never give a complete story. Because it is suspicious, the best strategy is to fill out the holes he gives you, then you sound more human. Play the game correctly and you win, the point of the game is find a name and a face, find a birth name and match it to a face, it makes it harder and people start to think. Kira seems more than willing to play."

Ed smiled. "Not necessarily. Notice, I suspected you from the moment I saw you. You've gotta work on your image. The story is fine, but burning files in the middle of a busy street isn't. And, what's the first thing you thought of when you saw me?"

He was generally curious. He hadn't been going for any image, but he had gotten used to keeping his head down, and being unimportant whenever he needed to be. Thus, he hoped she didn't notice he was E from the get go. That would be heartbreaking...

" I know that, but really I only had to burn one thing, the rest of the papers you sawv I didn't have to burn, so if anyone pulled out anything they would see the remains of a picture of two males, and a map. If anyone asks I would just say my boyfriend broke up with me and in revenge I took those things and burnt them, no big deal." She finally stopped stirring and put the coffee to her lips, now lukewarm from the repeated stirring.

" To tell the truth, I suspected something when you pointed out the files, then worked from there, besides I had really been walking so I didn't care much about you until I sat down, its a bad habit I have but I don't start I just react, makes me less noticable."

" And as for athens and sparta, I know only what was taught in class, even then I didn't care much for it, why do you ask?"

[Ed Thompson]

Ed smiled. "Well, Athens was always the more educated, and more civilized of the two city states. And Sparta was bred for war, designed for battle. They lived for the fight. I can compare the two to this situation, and I believe it would fit. To me, Kira is like Athens. He wishes to rid the world of evil, and barbarism. And he has a 'holier than thou' air about everything he does. We, ourselves, are Sparta. We've been in control for the longest time, and have bred ourselves to catch criminals, forsaking social skills, and honing our success. Kira wishes to eliminate all that oppose him. We wish to eliminate him, because he infringes on our territory."

He took a large gulp from the milk carton. "A rather suspect metaphor, but if you take into account human nature, you can tell. Kira believes us no better than criminals, because we'd dare hinder his divine mission. That's the main reason I messaged L. I have a bad feeling about how far Kira will go, and his skill. Sparta may have been masters of combat, but they eventually fell..."

Kagumi matched his smile, it was a metaphor that was very insightful, but she knew she wouldnt agree on some points, and others that he was implying, " We may be a reckless bunch, L may be completely reckless," she said with a flash in her amber eyes, " but we are a relentless bunch. chopping off the head of a snake in our case means nothing, we'll just keep coming back and coming back with everything we have." she sipped the coffee again, " we dont know when, hell i might not even make it out of this alive, but it will be fun to try. You just need to have a bit more faith in us then you think you have to. It will all work out in the end and he will dissapear like a passing fad."

Ed smirked. "With all due respect, I'd rather now put my face in you Whammy Orphans. I've made my way into this business with nothing. I didn't need any help. And now? I'm almost as good as L at what I do. Perhaps you have to trust in those who didn't get such education..."

He bit his walnut muffin, and tossed it farther away than all. "I always hated nuts..." He sipped the milk, to get rid of the aftertaste. "As for Kira, hasn't there been evidence that there may be a second Kira, that only needs a face to kill? Yes, I heard this little bit of news, and deduced that myself. This would make killing us even easier, though I do wonder if the second Kira has the same ideals as the first..."

The young girl's smile was practically unfaltered as she listened to him, " I understand your bitterness, but we are not all horrible people. if my father hadnt died i wuld probably still be in the same boat, just with at least a father to support me. He was a Samoan Inventor before he passed away. taught me everything that I know. I am not implying I have faith in my education, I am just saying a brilliant set of minds like the detectives of the world should never be underestimated, thats what Kira appears to understand, thats why he is working so hard and learning and growing so quickly, because he knows if he dosent he would surely die."

" And I had already looked at the information i was allowed, and it dosent take a genius to find that out. the small things about it though it takes a female intuition to deduce from that information."
